Hello, i need advice for a website i 'seoed' a bit too much. Website is 3 months old, what i did is: published a new page with original content every day, and then everyday i submitted my page to an average 30 social newtorks (digg, delicious, favourites etc)...so that makes an average 30 links pointing to each one of my pages with the same keywords. now after these 3 months of work google is totally ignoring my site: not a single visit from google searches in the last 4 weeks... ..and if i search for the exact title of my page the first results are the backlinks from the social networks and then at the end, if i'm lucky, will appear my page.... of course i'm pissed because the content i put there is somewhere in between average to good, nothing spammy at all! it looks like i switched on some kind of anti spam filter, because i was too aggressive, probably. but how do i normalize the situation? what can i do to save my website? Thank you in advance to anyone who can help with this..
its not too many backlinks that gets you penalized, its building links too fast is what gets you in trouble. always take a slow and steady approach
Google's going through bit of a twisty-turvy period at the moment, with complaints of random SEO boost to solid websites being thrown off the map! Give it a couple of weeks I would say and then you might see change for the best, just make sure your simple SEO tactics like Header Tags, good description and title are in place with effective and dense keywords.
Slow down your link building efforts for now and concentrate on improving your websites look and feel. Wait for the next google update and see what happens.
I can relate to this. Over SEOing in this case means hurrying things up or mass backlinks at a time. The people here are right , take things slowly but surely. Let Google trust your moves.
i don't think there's a duplicate content issue.. titles are all differents and so are descriptions. i must add that i used this very same technique, but much slower with other websites, without any problem at all
thanks all for the answers.. infact i'm already slowing down, i actually stopped any social network submission. i can see why my website may look unnatural to some filter with so many backlinks after only 3 months... i'm only worried that this could go on for months to come! do you think removing some of those links, where is possible, could help?
