Hi, I'm planning on buying my first domain from GoDaddy soon. Now, I do the checkout and they're offering me many many options.. I just want to know if you take the options when buy a domain:
Do you take the ''Protect and expand your business brand.'' (Buying .net, .org...)?
    Do you take Certified Domain?
Hosting with GoDaddy or find another company for the hosting?
Is it better to take the Email account from GoDaddy than from my hosting company?
What type of registration do you take (Standard, Deluxe or Protected)?
What about the ''Make your domain registration private!'' service?
    Finally, the Traffic Blazer?

    THX very for you help

Read carefully. Don't fall for some options you don't want. godeaddy tries to smoke around so you feel dizzy. Everyone first comes to godeaddy would feel the same, i believe.
And remember to seek for a promotion code (coupon).

Go with the comments made above. Just get the basic domain and get the rest from your host. Dont get fooled by the "frilly" marketing..

Godaddy is a great place to get domain names from, although I find their menu system overly complex. I prefer Godaddy for .info domains as they have great prices on them, but I find Namecheap.com works simpler and better for a other tlds (e.g. .com .net etc...)

Godaddy is a pretty inexpensive place to buy domains and with coupon codes it gets even better. Most of their addons are of little use because you can get some for free at other hosts. One thing to consider is making your domain registration private. That is one of the few godaddy addons I actually buy.

Traffic blazer was a waste when I tested it so I can't recommend it. As far as their email, google offers a free program where they will host your email and it functions just like Gmail. It is a great way to save a little and still get a pretty powerful email application.

I read in another forum wherein fellow webmasters abhor Godaddy's domain management system. Namecheap was highly recommended. One thing I like about namecheap is that it offers free private registration. In Godaddy, it is $8 plus.

If this is your first domain I would buy it with no add ons, buy the cheapest one, do not worry about add ons you can always acquire them later on once you understand what they are for and if they are of any use to you. (Traffic blazer, etc)

Godaddy is fine for domain name and its specialize it that part.
But if you need more free function such as private whois then you should go for name.com coz they offer it for free

I recommend Name.com. GoDaddy always puts an * next to their "low rates" and you end up paying them ten times the price they promised you at first.

Dont buy any extra crap from Goddady just the
domain...not even private. if you want privacy
just switch 1 number of your street add. and
phone number. boom! same as private.

Just get the domain, the options are for their business, it is promotion if don't like it uncheck the box. it is not a must, most of these options you can get somewhere very cheap some are included in the service with hosting service

Do you take the ''Protect and expand your business brand.'' (Buying .net, .org...)?
If you think you have a unique website idea that will be popular then i recommend buying .com .net and .org to protect yourself otherwise just buy a .com

    Do you take Certified Domain?
If you are selling things on your site then i recommend becoming certified as it increases user confidence

Hosting with GoDaddy or find another company for the hosting?
Godaddy has pretty good hosting but i've found that hostgator has some of the best plans especially their 'baby' plan which allows you unlimited space bandwidth and add-on domains

Is it better to take the Email account from GoDaddy than from my hosting company?
Better to get your email address from your hosting as it is included in the package rather than paying extra for one

What about the ''Make your domain registration private!'' service?
If you dont want your details to be shown then choose a private registration

    Finally, the Traffic Blazer?
Have never used traffic blazer so i will leave that one for someone else to answer for you

    I hope this helps :)
