Hi everyone. Christmas is on it's way so people will be saving/budgeting for that, and there's this whole economic crisis thing, so I was wandering if this has affected your conversion rates at all? I've seen several threads recently of people reporting a massive drop. Is it worth getting back into ClickBank marketing or should I wait until christmas is over and the economy sorts itself out?
Very simple. No sales, so my conversion rate is 0% right now. Hopefully the new outsourced articles will change it. nadavs
Well, as an affiliate, my conversion rates vary from 1:30 to 1:100, depending on Clickbank`s "mood". I personally don`t think Christmas is a bad time to jump in, it really does depend on what niche you`re in though. Dieting and health products are a good thing to try promote, if you know what you`re doing, because of the "i`ve got to lose my Christmas fat" craze that takes place! As a publisher my conversions are more steady, when they get a little weird i just e-mail Clickbank and they "miraculously" return to normal...
I have seen some slowing on conversions as an affiliate. However, as a publisher I am seeing some of the best days I have ever had. I am seeing better than 1 in 20 on eczema today after several sales. You always have to think about what time of the year it is or how is the economy or what is in the news, etc. Knowing how to change and adapt will increase your ability to profit. (dieting, get your ex back, detective sites, health sites, etc. are all great this time of the year.)
I'm curious, as a publisher are you seeing a lot of sales with no affiliate ids? Do you think there are external issues affecting conversion rates for affiliates or ClickBank issues? Maybe your products are converting well and the products you're promoting as an affiliate aren't, but it seems like you're experienced enough to stay away from products that don't convert well.
1 in 25 hops but this is with ppc and 50% who views my landing page clicks. Each click costs about £0.12 so I make about £5 from each sale.
About 1 in 550 as an affiliate over the past week. About the same as a publisher. I hate CB more with every passing day.
I just checked my ClickBank stats and I'm at 1-190 hops overall in the last 30 days. I have one product that hasn't converted at all, but my converting products are 1-107, 1-206 and 1-151 hops. Not the greatest ...
I haven't checked my affiliate stats but for my own product (not yet on CB), seems to take twice as long to hit a sale. People are definitely watching their wallets.
The sales are from affiliates and have associated ids. I do stay away from products that don't convert well. However, a product can convert lower than usual and still be a good money maker. (just not as good as before)
I started with CB at the end of November when I first got into, I did really well, of course I put in a lot of effort then. Still, I have yet to notice a big difference between this month and last month this year.
Interesting. Thanks for all your feedback. It would seem that if you find the right niche and the right product to promote then you might do well, but I guess that's always the case anyway. If conversions are not exactly predictable at this time of year, now might not be a time to get into ClickBank marketing. Hopefully the economy will sort itself out soon.
Right now I am 0 for 500 hops mostly targeted traffic. But I'm still blogging and trying to get more traffic.
