According to a UN estimate, by 2025 more than half of the world's nations may be seriously short of fresh water. By the middle of this century, this figure may rise to three-quarters. Even today, one of six people, or more than a billion people worldwide, are short of fresh water to some extent. - RIA Novosti

Desalination plants are the way of the future, I think. At least for domestic, and possibly industrial, needs. I doubt they'll be viable for agriculture anytime soon, though.

When it's empty, I guess I'll just have to buy another one. I don't think you can refill them :p :p

Resource wars will only increase in frequency and intensity. We already fight for oil. Water wars will come in time.

Coming from Australia, we are facing a "Level 4 Water Restriction" cause of a long and extensive drought! What does level 4 mean? Well we are advised to have four minute showers and we cannot use water outside the immediate housing (no gardening and such)!!

The world should really look into large-scale distillation of sea water, I mean 70% of the earths surface is WATER <- we should just turn it into drinkable stuff ;)

A book author had predicted that the next world war will be fought over scarcity of water. Today people fight over oil. In the future, they will fight over water. Do you think so?
