SEO Certification ???????......that is worthless but if you want any certification then try www.expertrating.com ....they take an examination of your seo skills and as per that they will provide you certificate but they do not provide u any training of SEO so for giving that exam you should have thorough knowledge of SEO.
There is no such a institute for SEO certification. They do not tell anything about SEO better prepare your own that can help you lot ...
I think "Google Advertising Professional Exam" would worth if you're planning career in search engine marketing.
No one will be interested on the certificate dude, You're wasting your money, Everyone will ask for 2-3 examples of good results and that;s all
I have never seen such institutes are certifications, it's waste of time. Prepare some manuals and tutorials which are available in Google and Yahoo and contact a friend who is in SEO marketing. Don't worry, step by step definitely you will learn every thing but it takes some time. Thanks for writing....
I got a certification from searchenginecollege.com but honestly dont waste your money. You will learn more from blogs/forums.
I agree with what was said above - several successfully completed projects and a couple of satisfied customers will certify better than pretty diploma
Seem weird that there is no type of certification for SEO. It's a fairly big industry and every other industry seems to have its share of educational "requirements".
seo certification = show proof of work and skills but recently i see some school offering a certification in internet marketing , who know if its worth it or not
Why people always seek certificates? They are not proof for any knowledge. Just you have money to throw away.
Larger corporations love certifications. However, any SEO Certification isn't worth the paper it's printed on. The questions would be way too subjective, and how does anyone really establish that they're an authority in this industry? The fact is SEO is a secret science which does not lend itself to certification, (in contrast to something like software development where best known methods are applied). It's like getting a certification in Palm Reading or Psychic Prediction. The closest thing to an SEO certification would be google's adwords professional program. That would be worth your time and money, but that's entirely different than a subjective SEO exam.
If you can prove to others you can achieve high rankings in the SE's then that is all the certification you need.
Ok, a university degree in SEO is a doubtful thing, but there are other certificates. For instance, a certificate from www.seoinpractice.com gives you a descount for seo software - I got that after completing several simple tests and I do find it cool 8)
I've been mostly learning about SEO through books, forums, blogs etc, but a friend of mine just recently had an SEO company do a training session with them and they said they learned a lot of stuff that wasn't in the books. I want to go to the SES strategies conference b/c I think I'd learn a lot there, but I also saw that SEOBook (I can't post websites yet) has an online training program. Has anyone had experience with it?
A couple ones come into mind, I personally would just use 2 or 3 references but if I was to get cert I would try.. Sempo Institute http://www.sempoinstitute.com/ Bruce Clay http://www.seotoolset.com/training/courses.html#certification
The only SEO Certification that counts is having YOUR keywords at the top of the Google SERPS. Anything else is a rip off. Many experts interview with a BS in Search Engine Optimization (that's Bull S$*t). Talk is cheap. In SEO, only your results count and if you can not show YOUR results, then you are BS. And Bruce Clay it one of the best if you must.
You can now do SEO certified courses through www.seocertificate.net You should sign up with http://www.gseo.net/register/ first.
