This is Chemo from the osCommerce community (well, before I was banned). Just saying hello and if anyone remembers me give me a shout back :)

I'll be hanging around the programming channels (PHP/MySQL) so hopefully I'll be of service to a few people.

    Hi Chemo

PHP coders are always welcome. What systems/frameworks are you working with these days?

Actually, I'm working on my own framework and rolling it from scratch.
Thank you for the welcome! At least one person remembers me from the old days :)

Cool, I'll be interested in taking a look if you release it publicly. I'm just having some fun with CakePHP and boy, there's alot of work gone in there!

Look who it is! It's my favorite troll!

I am not re-inventing the wheel in creating my own framework since the focus will be for eCommerce applications. The rest of the projects that are existing focus primarily on CMS type applications and might have an ecommerce module as an after thought.

So, why re-invent the wheel? Because there are no others with the same capabilities as what I'm attempting to implement.

However, the topic that you are alluding to (creating a database abstraction layer) is very mature and would provide very little benefit.

Just so everyone else can read what you're alluding to here is the URL to the thread: forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=60269 (sorry, can't post the link)

    ...nice try at trolling though.

Bobby, I don't think Raul realises that you've been around long enough to have seen it all before.

    Yeah, right! :D
    Good luck!

This is not the point in here.......still it doesn't matter anymore......

I do not think that exists that kind of person that "have seen it all"..... It is always something new to be discovered or reinvented!

Thank you Sarah...I sincerely appreciate your support. However, I *wish* I could honestly say I've seen it all but the truth is that my learning continues on a daily basis. :)

Today my lesson was that trolls do not accept a cordial "Good luck" and will continue the argument at all cost.

If I'm a troll just because I do not "eat" your rude manners...it's fine for me!
"Have a nice day" from a troll! :D
