When I do a google search, in quotes, for a unique phrase from my (wordpress) blog, I'm often presented with not my own website in the search results, but rather others that are scraping the content. I suspect I have some kind of duplicate content penalty or something, and want to stop all these spammy websites from taking snippets of my articles. How can I do this? Is it because I'm pinging the wrong websites when I write an article? I only really care about pinging Google's blog search site, who do you ping in turn to ping Google? At the moment I ping the following sites: http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping http://rpc.icerocket.com:10080/ http://ping.weblogalot.com/rpc.php If I stop pinging them, might other sites stop stealing my content? Or should I get rid of my RSS feed? Thanks for any advice....
Actually, i read that Google algorithm can found the real article. But in reality, i have the same problem with you. My advice is check the duplicate content in your site first. I have this problem when i'm using blogger and yet blogger front page is show all the content article of my new post, and it's really hurt your google ranking. Check also the archive and give noindex attribute. Also, if you submit your article, give a backlink to the source (your original article), it will help google find the real source.
