Hello. I have been online less than 4 months and would appreciate any help in getting started with internet marketing. I attended a seminar recently here in Nottingham and, although I enjoyed the free event, I simply didn't understand much of what was being said. Even so I would like to become further involved. I suppose the best place for me to begin would be to promote other people's products but I'd need someone to walk me through the whole process - ie choosing a niche, building a website, securing traffic, etc, as well as creating paypoints, links, etc. Can anyone offer me coaching/mentoring please?
philt66, Unfortunately you still have a long way to go. I don't recommend getting involved in all this unless you can do the following 4 things: 1. Have money ready for investment, not $100, not $200, but $1000 - $2000 + 2. Accept the fact that your investment can bring no return in the short period of time or even in the long period of time as bad business modules or such modules that are executed badly - fail. 3. Accept the fact that many people will try to cheat/scam you unless you got guided to avoid mistakes that'll lead you to get scammed. Tip: Save your money until you will learn everything.
philt66, there are at least 3 different ways to earn internet money. You can make money online by: 1. Selling advertising space 2. Selling your own products or services 3. Selling other people products or services 1. Selling advertising space You can make money by selling advertisements on your website or blog. This can be both automatic and manual. There are companies out there that will pay you money by having different advertisements on your website. For example Google Adsense will pay you money for every click on the advertisement. You can earn $15-$1 per click on average. (Warning! Do NOT think that you can click on your ads and not get got!). Other companies will pay you per impression. For example for every 1,000 advertisement displays the company will pay you around $3-$15 on average. How to make a lot of money by selling advertising space? Well there are some big websites like PlentyOfFish that makes $15,000 a day online. Facebook makes millions every day by selling advertisements too. But what do all these websites have in common? All these websites have a lot of content pages and a lot of visitors (traffic) too. 2. Selling your own products or services You can also earn internet money by selling you own products or services. This can be both digital and physical products. A digital product can be software, e-books, online videos, audios etc. You can sell your own digital products on your website with minimum costs and keep all the earnings. However you need to be experience on the subject, spend time on researching and creating your digital product. Unlike selling advertising on your site when you sell you own product you are in control. You can charge whatever you want, add more content or even put it out of market. You can make a lot of money by creating and selling your own products BUT it needs much more experience, time and money. 3. Selling other people products and services (Affiliate Marketing) This is what they talk about at the seminar in Nottingham. By selling other people’s products you can make cash by earning a commission of the product you sold. You just sign up as an affiliate (for free) and sell digital and physical products from your website and redirect your website visitors to other websites where they can buy the product or the service. You don’t have to be an expert but only be familiar with the product or service that you recommend. You are saving time because someone else has done all the hard work for you. By promoting a digital product you can earn between 30%-75% of the product’s price. So let’s say for example you are promoting a digital product, for example an ebook on how to cure acne, that costs $40. Your commission rate is 60%. So for every sale you make you earn $24. Now how do you make a lot of money with affiliate marketing? Well this is the hard part. You got to drive lots of visitors (paid or free) that are interested for this product. In our example, you have to get people to your website that have acne problems and convert all that visitors into buyers. Since you don’t have to support visitors, don’t have to create the product, don’t have to ship the product, Affiliate Marketing is one of the easiest methods to make money online. The hard thing is to drive targeted traffic (free and paid) and find the correct product to promote and build a website (1-5 pages) that converts. Hope that helps

I would respectfully disagree with wounded. You don't have to invest a bunch of money up front to test things and find out what works. There are different strategies for different types of websites. For example, PPC is rarely used for blogs. However, almost any website will rely on search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.) for their traffic. I wouldn't mind giving you some pointers along the way but I can't recommend a type of site to you. The biggest mistake you could make is getting into a website that takes up your time that you are not passionate about its topic. So, figure out what type of website you want to build first, then go from there. Remember, the website needs to be useful in theory and provide something different from competitors.
Hi! You are right. The best way to begin is by selling other people's products. However, you need to be sure that what You are promoting provides good value to Your customers! There are a good number of factors You need to be aware of so You can actually make money, even as an affiliate. Honestly, getting some coaching is the fastest route to success but be carefull. Choose carefully!
