    Update content often and make it interesting...and interact with your readers through comments,etc. It'll increase the unique visitors. Also, do a little bit of SEO.

    I suggest using a mix of referrals and SEs so that when the SE-algo changes and your site rankings take a dip, you don't have to panic as the referrals still draw commendable traffic.Some ways of getting traffic via referrals are blog and forum posts, press release postings ans social bookmarking.

    When you create a site, you have a particular visitor segment in your mind. You have to create the article, the content for them, so that your site reaches them. This is increase your visitor loyalty. You have to do a lot of on site and off site SEO, with link buildings with appropriate links and not any links with higher PR.
