I don't like to share tips because I dont like giving too much information away lol Hope this helps...remember these are my experiences/theories. 1. Change the color on your background or page. I go to a lot of sales pages that have black backgrounds. Try searching all the local banks in your area, and notice what they all have in common. WHITE BACKGROUND. Do you honestly think someone will want to put their private information or buy something with a dark or off color background? I believe it's also unprofessional. Make sure to pick positive colors that will motive people. 2. Navigation. I have seen a lot of websites where you need to click through 2-3 pages to get where you need to be. Most users will only click ONCE from a page, and if they dont find their information they will BOUNCE! Make sure to use drop downs, and put the information in the correct place. Also, check to see if you can setup a nice sitemap that will show all of your pages. 3. Content. Stop using SALES pitches within VITAL INFORMATION. If someone is seeking information on HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT then provide the information they need. DO NOT start selling within the paragraphs as that is annoying for a lot of people. Most people search for INFORMATION not products. 4. For GOODNESS SAKES....make sure users dont have to scroll HORIZONTALLY and/or have to scroll 4-5 pages Vertically to get to where they need to be. It's ANNOYING! 5. Make sure the fonts are READABLE. Not too small and not having a million links bunched together. ANNOYING! Make sure that most of the important stuff is spread out. 6. Stop bolding all of your content. Not only is this annoying, but this is very bad for SEO. You should ONLY bold keywords. If you bold the whole page then you lose the effect of bolding something. Google will disregard the whole bold effect on your page. 7. Get rid of most of the ads. If your webpage is full of ads then most people would consider it less trustworthy. I dont like to go in a store and have all the salespeople trying to sell me something. 8. Provide CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT. Make sure it's accessible from the HOME PAGE. The more content you have the more people will trust your website. there's a lot more tips but you guys should do well with the above. Reps would help!
yes, above tips may reduce Bounce Rate but it is not possible to get the exact reason for the Bounce Rate for a particular website.......
Very fantasitc dear. I never heard such great techniques anywhere. I am still confused that why people hide such goods things. I think they afraid that if they will disclose these techniques then they will be no where what a foolish mind they have. Whatever thanks again dear
Frankly this is more like a general list for web designs - which has a HUGE different from reducing bounce rate. Guess you're just living up to your principal of not to share too much tips. By the way, bounce rate wasn't something bad all the time. For example I would like to have high bounce rate for my affiliate selling page so everyone's going to my merchant's site instead of browsing around mine.
This should work for all websites. If you dont think so then I dont know what to tell you. This is my experience with a dozen websites and trying out different things. Some of the stuff is so obvious yet people still think they know what they're doing.
Great tips, some I was doing anyways but not consciously. Specifically the background color is a great tip, something I've always done but not really understood why. Building confidence in visitors should probably be #1 with the rest falling under 'how to'.
I agree wholeheartedly with the idea of Content-Content-Content. The more good, targeted content a site has, the better your reputation with your visitors and the search engines, especially Google.
bounce rate is why a USER will bounce reducing bounce rate is using your noggin not some SEO trick or anything to do with Google. Bounce rate is the sales approach in keeping potential customers in the store..and not leaving so quickly. here are some top reasons why people bounce Trust - Page doesnt give you a feeling of trust. This happens a lot when you go to a page that is filled with ads, and has hardly any content. Navigation - is the other information accessible from the home page? Most times you only get ONE SHOT to sell something. A lot of users may not have time to fill out a huge form or click through 3-4 pages to find what they're looking for. They immediately BOUNCE! Content - do you have information on what they need or it's another sales page? You should always provide information first then sales. Your articles should start out as .....Acne is a common problem with most Americans. Here are a few causes of Acne....Here's how to Prevent Acne..etc etc It shouldnt start out as ....With our product you can reduce Acne...
Different people bounce certain sites for different reasons. Most importantly, make it clear to the end user what it is that you want them to do. If you really want to decrease your bounce rate try using Google Website Optimizer and testing different layouts.
Oh, this is a very good post. These tips should be a basis to all webdesigners. Since I'm fighting against my bounce rate, changing and presenting more content to my customers, this post really helped.
