I would go to a major article directory and hire whoever comes up on top for the subject you are looking for, and has coherent writing skills. That's just me.

I would go over to Guru.com. They tend to attract better writers. I would offer my own services, but I honestly don't know much about the Tax industry, and don't have time to build up my vocabulary in that area.

GetAFreelancer is okay, I've worked with them, but most of the others are going to be a waste of time with looking for a professional writer.

Many freelance writers only see themselves as writes because they can complete real sentences in the English language (or their native language), and have no idea of the fundamentals of conversion. I'm guessing that you are not simply looking for fat to grind in the search engine wheel, but to actually make conversions on your web site.

Try getafreelancer, elance and even scriptlance but make sure you check there feedback and samples and run a check with copyscape so you dont get burned. :)

If you end up posting your job on the freelance websites, you should consider some simple, yet effective tips for webmasters

Hope this helps you find the best writer on the planet ;)

Finding a good writer is not too hard. Retaining them for the long haul is another story.

There are some good copywriters here at Digital Point. Check out the copywriter forum and ask for some info. You may find someone you like after you review some work from their portfolio...

DP member known as internetauthor had a great project http://www.ewritersworld.com/ - she tried to put all DP writers in a nice and neat box. If you're not looking for "$5 Not Speak English" writers, check the site and you'll find a good one.

Try Odesk, they have this system allowing you to monitor your writer's work through screenshots. In fact, i'm a writer and my client's monitoring me right now... lol.
