Where can I hide a link on the webpage

The company I work for is a PR5 website and my boss today told me I could add a link to my website on it.

Where on the page should I put this link? He says he doesn't want anyone to be able to see it.

If I hide a link like this, will my bosses website be hurt, or will mine?

What about the author meta tag?? Will that give link juice?

    <meta name="AUTHOR" content="My Name Here (http://www..com)" />

I dont think its a good idea hiding links, ie white text on white background.

Why the hell would do that??? That is black hat. Google will see your background text is the same as your link text. Just don't do it.

all of such methods like backgroundcolor and font color be the same or font-size=0 or orher like this is wrong and be banned by google and you can se source from browser.
i remember a method with two site one with and another without your link and for all
mouse or key event site without your link be called and active and only for open link in browser be redirected to site number two with your link. i remember also that was a javascript function that does the job. i hope you can use it.

Find in the page keywords that are related to your site, then link it to your site, make the link no underline and same color like it is not a link.
This is a much more safer idea.

people also put them under an 1x1 pixel image with alt text etc, but your bosses site is more at risk from hiding links than yours.

When you do the above, your site will be ok. But your boss's site will be banned and then you will be unemployed. Or in some states this is now called "Fraud".

It would be better to go to an internal page with very little traffic, "Careers" where you can place a propper SEOed link to your site.

Also, get it in writing that you have permission. Just in case he changes his mind.

Do not make this link hidden. That is just asking Google to ban or penalize the PR5 website. Google does not like hidden links at all. Even if you manage to hide it from Google, your competitors could notice this hidden link and report the PR5 site for spam.

You could link an existing graphic or existing text and hide the link that way. Or as catanich mentioned, you could put the link on an internal page instead.

Make the link the same color as the background but I would avoid this, I would just add your link at the bottom of the page in the footer but do it normally, people will be able to see it but this is the right way to do it to avoid any penalties.

It has been mentioned before in google webmasters guidelines not to hide any links. If it is viewed as not important, just put it as footer links with smaller font size.
