Whistleblower claims he was fired for objection to Rezko house deal. The transaction involved Obama purchasing a multi-million-dollar home in Chicago's trendy Kenwood neighborhood, across the street from the Rezkos, at a discounted price.

Rezko, who was convicted of corruption charges earlier this year that implicated Blagojevich.

WND obtained a copy of the civil complaint filed in October with the Illinois Circuit Court in Cook County by former real estate credit analyst Kenneth J. Conner.

Conner alleges he was fired by his former employer, Mutual Bank of Harvey, Ill., because he objected to land appraisals submitted on behalf of the Rezkos and the Obamas, with the complicity of the bank.

WND has confirmed with the clerk of the Cook County Clerk of Courts that Conner has requested a 12-person jury trial, and the case, docketed as 2008#L011470, has been assigned to Judge Charles Winkler.

I hope Obama's people contacted the feds relative to any efforts by blagojevich to extort money, or at the least didn't do squat.

I'm the last guy in the world to squeal on someone else, but we desperately need a change in the White House, and I like Obama's direction so far.

Meanwhile, Illinois has had a helluva run with the current and recent former governors, both dems and repubs. What the hell do they feed those guys?

It's heavily to Obama's favor that the good governor was cussing his name a blue streak for not being generous with political favoritism in return for the governors support. The Gov sounds like a bit of a psychopath and is obviously a loose cannon... Obama may well have had the political savvy to realize he'd be an albatross.

Agreed, Rob. Blago seems literally delusional - a guy with this kind of baggage, even before he was completely outed, seriously believing the job he's "stuck" with is in reality merely a stepping stone to higher office - ambassadorship, cabinet level post, presidency. Nothing worse than megalomania, come crashing down.

From all I can tell, the complaint exonerates Obama - the presumption is that the moron didn't know he was being taped, as he so completely hung himself, and in the same taped conversations, he excoriates Obama for not playing ball:

Yep, it makes me so warm and cozy as an Illinoisan. Must be the Lake Street packing district - gives the taste for blood.

There seems to be a trend for people to give more trust to weathly people like Mayor Bloomberg, Warren Buffet, Gov. Corzine and Gov Schwarzenegger. You wouldn't think that they could be bought.

That's probably a reasonable assumption, but the fact that we've seen corporate titans who are at least as wealthy (well, not as wealthy as Warren Buffet, but who is?) get hauled off to prison for stealing from their shareholders or defrauding the public, I'm not sure the assumption will always hold up.

I just love how Obama said he never had any dealings with him but then his camp turns around and says they did. It was a very LITERAL statement, Obama didn't but his camp were the ones doing the discussing. No matter how much I don't like Obama, I don't want to see him get caught up in this, for the good of the country. Although, at the same time, if he is guilty, I want him to get hemmed as well, ugh, decisions decisions.

<rant>BTW, there really hasn't been much in the way of change from Obama, he's packed his cabinet with Washington insiders, he's already started going back on his word for a lot of things. For one, no immediate withdraw from Iraq like he said, 2 he's not going to repeal the tax cuts for the 250k+/year tax bracket, but rather let them expire. Next he's going to be appointing Republicans to the USSC lmao.</rant>

I can't believe what I've heard about this guy and his arrogance. One of the FBI Agents said something along the lines of the whole city is as corrupt as a Russian Politburo lol. This crap is crazy.

If Obama is guilty of corruption, as much as I voted for him, I'd say, exactly for the good of the country, he'd need to be brought down as much as anyone else committing the crime. It was right for Nixon, and it would be right for Obama.

I have a wary eye on him as well, but then I did previously, when he reversed course on some things pretty important to me, prior to being elected. I am still going on his balance, and brains, and general bent - which I hand to him as a notch above others. Although I wasn't aware he ever said he was going to repeal the tax cuts - I thought he has always indicated he will allow them to lapse?

Wow! Not only is that a horrible thing to do, but he was really stupid about it. Who leaves that sort of evidence EVERYWHERE? It's a shame to see yet another corrupt politician.

What can be changed to prevent this type of stuff. You guys know that this isn't the first time this has happened -- it probably happens all the time under the radar.

I honestly dont trust the bulk of DC as far as I could toss the Washington Monument... but I hope Obama stayed way clear of this and it is shown to be so quickly. I dont especially like the guy, but I don't want to have a term filled with distractions from what needs to be done.

Seriously... I cannot recall the last time you ever made a post that wasn't geared towards smearing Obama :D

You do know the "who is Obama" campaign is over don't you?

Memo you missed: No need to scare people anymore, he's already elected.
Hey hey, I'm an Illinoisan too. I am getting rather tired of the Land Of Lincoln moniker. Let's lobby to change it!
Heh there was literally an ebay auction for it.

Hahah - well, I thought you were joking, man. I appreciate that he "earned every cent," not such a fan of what led to, well...

Complex, brilliant guy. With a tragic flaw.
