Mental illness and the Internet are a legal disaster waiting to happen. As someone with a lot of experience dealing with mental illness, I'd get out of this while I still could if I were you. You're going to get people on your site praying on these people via social engineering attacks, tricking them out of their social security checks is just a start. As much as you believe you're not responsible for this, someone WILL sue you over a situation like this sooner or later. You're going to get kids who come around and pick on people or act like they're "coming to get them". Someone who is manic depressive may end up killing themselves or someone else, we all know what happened to the lady who screwed with the head of a teenage girl who finally killed herself in the end not too long ago. Again, someone WILL sue you sooner or later. What do you do when someone adjusts to their meds and goes off the wall for a month attacking everyone before their doctor changes their meds ? I've had police officers shake my feet and wake me up out of a deep sleep to let me know they've been called to take someone to the hostpital before. Someone who's adjusted to their meds is no fun to deal with at all. What happens when a paranoid schizophrenic decides that you're responsible for their paranoid delusions of people on the network stalking them and sues you ? Something you really have to take into consideration is this, would a court decide that a mentally ill person is incapable of understanding the meaning of a TOS and exempt them from being bound by it ? People with mental illness are VERY concerned with their privacy, they make credit card companies and banks look like information whores. what do you do when someone breaks into the system and tries to extort these people ? There's special community centers these people go to for social interaction in most places, and for good reason. Some of the things I've mentioned sound obsurd I know, but as I mentioned, as someone with experience dealing with people that have mental illnesses, stranger things have happened.
You PEOPLE dont understand Mental Illness. People with mental illness are fully capable of using the internet. I happen to have bipolar disorder.
If mentally ill people can use the internet then they can work! But most mentally ill people dont have jobs!!

Bipolar disorder,OCD,ADD,ADHD,schizo affective disorder, schizophrenia,personality disorder, social anxiety disorder, mental disorders like these.
