    Hi d00ds,

I am an absolute newbie in ebay, so I'd like to ask a few qustions.

Once I registered with ebay to sell my mp3 player, paid the fee (~2$) to sell it and didn't sell it ! LOL, so I think that happened becuase I had no reputation.

    My questions would be:

    1. If I have no rep (I'm a new member) - noone will buy from me ?
    2. How to gain that reputation then if noones buying ?
    3. Do I always have to pay the fee fro ebay for submitting my item to a list to sell (even if at the end I don't sell it ?)
    4. Are there fees for selling digital content ?

That's it. 4 Q's. I'd be appreciated to get your answers.

    Cheers

    Hi there,

I think it's very difficult to sell something on Ebay without a decent reputation. The only way might be a good communication with buyers, and building a good and detailed advice for the items you want to sell. If you offer refunds for not satisfied customers, you will have more chances.
To gain a reputation, try to buy something before selling. Yes, you do have always to pay fees to Ebay when you submit your items with the auction or bin options also when you are selling digital products. The amount you pay to Ebay is based on a percentage that may vary.
    Hope this helps

Oh by the way, another short question - let's say I want to save some time and I find a dude who is read to sell me his reputable account for some paper. So I buy it. Is that legal ? Can I then change account details, etc. ?

In the user agreement it says -

While using eBay, you will not:
    transfer your eBay account (including feedback) and User ID to another party without our consent;

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/user-agreement.html

Buying another account to take over their feedback rating would be clearly fraudulent - I know as a customer, I wouldn't want to do business with anyone who had done that. It makes the whole feedback system completely pointless.

That is against eBay policy, so I guess it's illegal. If eBay finds out you will most likely be banned for life.

Probably price was too expensive or keyword was not good so didn't get enough traffic. Selling electronics on Ebay is really competitive.

I think feedback does play a part in it, more if the product is very expensive. But as long as you don't got a bunch of negatives it shouldn't stop people from buying too much. So it may be a combination of things including price. Look around to check how much other people are selling for the same product. And maybe that will answer your question

Or I would start selling smaller/cheaper items as people are less worried about paying for a $5 item from an ebayer with little feedback than an expensive product such as an mp3 player.
