    Hey there,

I am creating a free eBook that will hopefully be viral - before I devote any more time to it, I'd like to know if any of you have had success utilizing torrents to promote an eBook with relavent Affiliates?

I ask because I am relatively new to IM and would like to know what I can expect before I get my feet wet.

    Thanks -

    BFry

Do you care to elaborate? What do you mean by "it won't work"?

I will try to explain instead of him.

People that visit torrent sites won't pay a cent for audio/video/software/games/etc.
Why do you think they will buy anything from your affiliate links?

I don't have experience with such an auditory but I still think you're targeting the wrong people.
That's my personal opinion of course, you can still give it a try and prove me wrong :) Good luck!

Try pay per install with torrents...much more potential.

+1 to zexy. People are at torrents to get stuff they don't want to pay for...

This is misleading. EVERYONE gets sidetracked by affiliate ads with the right message, on any site. You're making the mistake of assuming that, because someone is downloading an album or a movie, that they aren't online consumers. While I don't click on ads, I do purchase things online, and I also use torrents.

Any torrent site is going to have tons of adverts on it, which generally have at least 10% CTR.

I tried this with a penis enlargement ebook. Got the traffic but no conversion. People on torrents are looking for free stuff.

But, if you think about it, perhaps promoting some freebie cost-per-lead campaigns would do the job.

Yes, CPA or PPI is probably you're best bet with torrent traffic. I haven't had much luck with other methods of monetizing such traffic.
