Discussion in 'Google' started by Env, Dec 7, 2008.

    Hello

I was reading a thread on some guy offering to sell links to high PR blog pages and articles etc.

Does it look good for me to place my links in the comment sections of blogs, surely the bots will know scanning div and comment code structures, like as if the Google Bot team never use wordpress

    Name: Seo Word 1
    Link: seolink
    comment: nice article

Anyone shed some light on this?

It's completely fine. I'll tell you what though, I would find some places that actually moderate their comments to get all the spam out. If your link appears on a page that has hundreds of spam comments on it, it isn't going to do a thing for you.

I always try to find older posts in a popular website that don't have too many comments (1-20 is usually fine). Plus, older posts have more PR on average.

Overall it's a nice way to gain backlinks, but keep in mind blog comments will only take you so far. What you really need is a good link building campaign that includes directory submission, blog posts, article syndication, etc etc.

    Good luck!

Yeah, it's best to take your time with the comments that you post on blogs. This will give them a better chance of going live and staying live. Take the time to read the post and leave a relative comment. You'll benefit the most that way.

I like to get the comments from related sites to my niche. Your best bet is to use Google and seek them out. ;)

Not all links are treated equally by google.
Blog comments on a genuine blog (which isn't filled with spam comments) can be effective. But if majority of your links are coming from blog comments it's easy for google to find out your tactics.
So keep the blog commenting tactic as part of your over all link building plan.

ye google is able to find that out. or at least should be. maybe they are able to do it not 2day, but 2morrow.

    fact:
they downgrade you, if they see you have 75% blog spam links. so never do more than 10% blogspam links. it's not good.

Well..most of the blogs are now using Nofollow tag..which means there is no value for your comment. So, check whether the blog is dofollow or nofollow before commenting.

In a number of competitive niche, it's very difficult to find high PR, legit blogs with legit comments on them and even if you find them, it is kinda difficult to get approved sometimes even if your comment is related to the post because it is the title in your name file that ticks off a lot of webmasters. So basically, if you can find genuine blogs with limited number of comments and if you can get your comment approved there, then it'll have a positive impact on your SERPs, everything else has extremely low value.

Balance among backlinks tatics is the master rule: all links are important, with some more weighted than others. Articles, social bookmarks, blogs, forums.... I try to gain links from all sourcers I can get.

Really, I own several blogs where I put fresh articles all the time, but my company produce fresh content in a daily basis, but if that would not be the case, I certainly would try to gain links from comments rather than paying for posts. It's much easier.

It all depends on what you are trying to solve. Having lots of blog comments and links will make you rank high in msn, and not so much in google. Google tends to give site wide links (links on many pages of one site) a penalty of a lack of high page rank.

Personally, I think that will be considered spam so the comment most probably will be deleted. In the other hand, you can always give it a try and see if it works.
