    Just because something is reputable, doesn't make it right ...if you truly are interpreting it right. I don't know because I'm not digging through pages of w3.org. If proving it is important to you, please provide the exact page and quote.

    That doesn't at all refute my original point that there are differing opinions as to whether <title> is a type of meta tag. It's a tag that contains meta information. Nobody is saying it's a Meta element, as a meta element must contain the word "meta" as the element. All I am saying is that many consider <title> a meta tag since it's a tag that holds meta content.

    If you don't agree that there are many from that school, look at how many referenced <title> in their response before you felt the need to correct them. I guarantee the folks who wrote specification wouldn't take that hard of a stance on the issue.

    Also focus on only a couple of keywords in your description. Dont try to fit 5-7 or it will be confusing garbage to the user.

    Ok, while we're on this topic - do meta-tags (and I'm talking about the <meta> tags) have to be placed within the <head> tags? And what are the implications of doing this in terms of SEO and SERP?

    I also wondered to know that. I have seen some websites with three or even five of meta tags in the first page of some competitive words and never realized why (above keyword stuffing)

    I am grateful for that as it took me over twenty years of study to suss all that out!

    This an interesting thread considering the title tag is the A1 most important tag whether it is regarded as a meta tag or not.

    I suppose if we are looking at things "meta" strictly as only those with meta in the code then the argument can be - No Title tag is not meta

    or

    Yes Title tag is meta as it is in the "header" info as opposed to the "body" info.

    Seems to sort of depend on what way a person (or prhaps sometimes more importantly) a bot/spider is looking at things - or programed to look at things accordingly.

    Hope that makes some sense?

    meta keywords are not important with google, but other search engines still count them, so you might as well put them in for the sake of it. It doesn't take too long anyway.

    Hello, my friend!
    In my opinion when you add Meta tag in your website, you take care about the description because Google give importance to description as compare to keywords. Also keywords when you use it will not be stuffed.
