Well I would like to think they are used for more legal purposes. Like visiting sites you are uncertain about to avoid any type of malicious behavior of the site harming your computer or getting valuable information about you. Some offices block access to certain sites and you want to keep in contact with family or friends and you have down time at work you can use a proxy to visit blocked sites. Use cgi proxies to access https sites there are many positives to a proxy. Though they mostly used by school kids and for illegal activities.
You missed the biggest percentage of proxy traffic. School students and office workers. They often use proxys to get around blocked websites/filters.
I think the biggest click I ever had was around $2.50 for one click. I am told that people do pay hundreds for some clicks, so I guess someone has to get half of the amount. Probably in the insurance niche. What is your biggest ever click?
