Dollar amount or percentage?

Should I use a dollar amount or percentage when writing an ad?

    For instance:

    Save $100 Off List Price

    Or

    Save 23% Off List Price

I know I probably should test it to make sure, but as a customer which one would you be more likely to click on?

    Thanks

As a customer I'm more likely to respond to the the phrase "Save $100 off List price".

Yeah I think I would to, but I want to know if people respond to the percentage, if some do then then I guess I'll make up 2 sets of graphics and try to rotate them and test it.

    Thanks

I would say dollar amount. Any percentage lower than 70% doesn't grab my attention. :)

Yeah kinda my feelings to. I thought the dollar sign might be more attention grabbing, but started making some with percentage and then just decided to ask. That way if there's no interest I won't bother setting up something to split test.

    Thanks

Hmmm... looks like the dollars then. It might have caused me some minor brain damage to try to implement a split testing script anyway.

Now I just wonder if not rounding it off is better. For instance, Save $107 When You Order Today. I think the cents might be overkill.

    Thanks
