Anyone notice that Spyfu comes up at the top of a LOT of search queries lately? I've used it before and hadn't really paid much attention to it, but today i was poking around a little more than usual. Did you notice that when you view a clickbank site from there, they cookie you? I wonder if this is part of the reason for sales that are less than stellar lately. Their site shows up in the top 5 for a ton of searches i've done. They must be doing very well with clickbank. I'm jealous. I think the guy that owns it posts here, and owns a few high traffic sites.
I just tried going to that site and you're right, my cookie was reset. Is cookie stuffing allowed by ClickBank? I know eBay doesn't like it much: http://www.montysmegamarketing.com/digital-points-shawn-hogan-sued-for-cookie-stuffing.
I'm not sure if they're actually stuffing per se, i actually have to click on the view site link to get their affiliate cookie. At first i thought they were stuffing, i had live headers up and saw a clickbank cookie. That's what caused me to do some more investigating. In any event, they must be doing pretty well with that site.
I just tried again and I think you're right. They only seem to reset the cookie if you follow their link to the publisher page which is totally legit. BTW: Thanks for putting me on to this site. This is a very interesting tool that just helped me tie a couple of things together for me. I've got some work to do.
