Hello Everyone! I have a question directed toward website owners. Do you have a budget for SEO? If so, how much you do set a side? Thanks in advance!
If I pay for SEO.. I mostly don't pay a lot.. and if it would be for a VERY BIG project, which I'm sure I will earn a lot with it, I would max pay 1000$.. but than I must get guarantee I'm #1 on the keyword.... Hope your something with my reply Greetz
Wow that was fast Aquarezz! Thanks for the input. I am trying to set aside an SEO budget for my next project and wanted to see what other people are doing.
We recommend that you budget $100US per page per year for SEO. On PPC, we recommend that you budget 8% management fee and $250US per month PPC spend. And the work is done in Dallas Texas USA. If you go to the UK, Asia, Brazil, the dollar amount will change widely. What doesn't, is the "hours needed". Brazil & Argentina are the best for high quality for "lowest rate". Australia is next. Britton is third. And there are some very good firms starting up in South Africa.
You should optimize your pages for sure, but SEO starts with site architecture. Don't wait until your site is built before you start looking at optimization.
It would depend a lot on the niche and the competitiveness of your keywords. It may be possible to dominate one niche with $1000, but for another niche it may take a few thousand per month. It also depends on your goals. Do you just want a certain amount of visitors per day or do you want to be top 3 for most of your keywords? catanich you mentioned $100 per year per page, but what can $100 really get you? That seems very low especially if the page targets any moderately competitive keywords. I'm pretty surprised you generalized seo firms based on nationality. That seems a little ignorant and racist. I normally respect all of your other opinions on here.
Budget means money for some and time for others. In my one and a half year in the business I have spent less than 50$ in SEO services and earned quite a bit, although that could've been better had I spent a bit more on SEO. But then again I compensated that by giving more time to it. It boils down to the kind of site you have and the targets you want to achieve with it.
I absolutely agree with vansterdam. Niche + goals + proven past ROI + monies available for advertising + monies available for SEO(and the list goes on)...all of these determine how much one would budget for SEO. With all of these things in mind, we spend approximately $185K-$200K per year in online advertising alone. We use PPC, a few paid industry web directories, and organic SEO (which I perform constantly). Actually, that's pretty much my job description. There are so many variables that determine a company's SEO budget; I'm sure I've only skimmed the surface.
My SEO budget is time. How much time and effort I am willing/able to spend on optimizing my sites. It varies by month but a little here and a little there adds up. Not nearly as effective as spending cold hard cash on it but better than nothing at all
I wouldn't trust my money with other SEO companies- I do it all myself. So to answer your question, the only thing I'm "spending" is my time. Which actually is quite valuable, I suppose!
wow all these high prices and you wouldn't need this much at all,it depends on your project, goal, competition and the SEO you hire.
You typically get what you pay for. All the power to those that have the time and expertise to do it themselves. If you are cheap with your SEO you will probably end up wasting more money in the long-run.
Could not have put it better myself oddcomments as - Do not build a site before taking SEO into account is something many should take on board as a no brainer! SEO is the #1 most important aspect to any website! My budget is "ZERO" as I am on page one of Google for absolutely heaps of SEO search terms including "W*rlds B$st SEO" and "W£rlds B*st SEO Writer" (spell accordingly) so I don't need a SEO Budg%t!
I just hired a company and am paying $500/month. The keywords are competitive and if they get me to page one on several keywords the ROI will be great.
