Well, i am better knows that Google is not human edited search engine...it is all maintained by crowller and spider..but recently i read somewhere that Google ranking is edited by human a bit...it only for surety that their software (spider) giving good result or not...does it true..anyone have any opinion..?

Of course its true. Human intervention is required in almost all forms of automated tasks, in any industry. In other words, Google will obviously lower the value of a site should they discover something that involves manipulating SE results.

Even if it wasn't human edited at times for certain sites, their algorithm is most certainly human edited, which results in the same being done for whichever site the spider crawls.

Yes they often remove Adsense from sites for violating the terms, this is done by someone manually reviewing the site. And I imagine they probably penalize the so called Blackhat sites that also violate the terms of service by trying to trick their algorithms and this also needs to be done manually. If Google's quality of searches decline so will the traffic, so in order to keep it high manual editing will have to be done. Or they will die the same death of the so called "big 8" searchengines from the late 90's.

They have to do it periodically , in order to maintain their search quality . Spammers and search engine optimizers are applying black hat methods to manipulate search results and sometimes its only curable by manual editing .

One example is removing George Bush's biography from the number one result when you search miserable failure. With that said, Google will do everything it can to accomplish this through automated methods. Human editing is a last resort.

Google is 98% automated. Human intervention is triggered by automated flags or submissions that require human judgement.

In short, Google is automated until you get flagged, then a human reviews your site for the basic Google violations. And if Google gives the world a "recommendation", follow it or this review will penalize you.

I agree with catanich. They aren't sitting there reviewing every website that gets indexed. Things are all automated until a website sets off some type of red flag. Then it is in Google's best interests to manually review that website to see if a penalty of ban is warranted.

I think they actually do have employees who search all day and rank sites by hand.

I'm assuming you're the one who gave me a negative rep, with no justification?

Human editing is a last resort, however even their automated methods are human edited (how do you think their algo is built), so in either case, a human was involved in the decision making process of what constitutes a good or bad site that their spider software crawls

Why would I give you negative rep?? I liked your answer ...That's why I provided an example to back it up. If I gave you anything, it would have been positive rep.

It takes a lot for me to give negative rep. Even if I think someone's wrong, I don't give it. I reserve negative rep for malicious posts.

But thanks for accusing me ...with no justification.

Please accept my apologies, I had made the assumption because the rep was received around 7:23 and you had quoted me at 7:26. In either case it was the AM after a 12 hour shift, I must have been tired! Here's some greens for you ;)

Yes, There is a webspam team under "Matt Cutts" that looks for the spammy sites and closely monitor WWW to remove any type of malicious practices to effect search engine reanking.

in most cases it isn't and Adsense is a different program so it must be human edited to pick out the good from the bad but imagine how many google has to hire to edit all the millions of search results :O
