giving away some of my websites!

Discussion in 'Sites' started by drig, Jun 13, 2006.

Ok, so I have WAY overextended myself and would like my websites to go to someone who can spend some time on them. I will give each website to someone, along with any domain name(s), free domain push to a godaddy.com account, and hosting until the end of the month (time to move the site, which I will NOT help with). In return, a sitewide 468X60 iframe displaying my banner must be included in the top 300px! You can never sell the site. You MUST be from the united states and be SERIOUS in developing these sites. Again, you may NEVER sell these sites. If you do not want them anymore, they must be given back to me. I reserve the right to deny a site to anyone for any reason. You MUST also DEVELOPE the site you choose (maintain, promote, etc etc).

So what do you get? The site, the idea, the domain name, and all the revenues you make off ads, site listings, etc etc.

Why would I do this? Because I am over extended and most of the sites have just been sitting and are only worth $20-$50 each anyways. I also get the small advertisement as well :).

    1. dealdb.com
leapfish values this domain at around $250 base. I think this site has tons of potential and is very unique.
    traffic: 300 uniques / month
    revenue: $1/month

    2. accentaction.com/performanceaccents.com
My first forums site. it did have a few postings when a few users decided to spam the boards a last month. The forum has been on lockdown since. Was looking at a Hyundai Accent website dedicated to performance mostly because the new 2007 hyundai accents are directed toward teenagers on a budget (who also want performance).
    traffic: 100 uniques / month
    revenue: ~$1/month

    3. cssotd.com
I just started this one, but again realized I didnt have time. It is a wordpress blog featuring CSS, with a new css blurb, news, or example every day.
traffic: 700 uniques / month (june est)
    revenue: $0

Post: CLAIMED and the site you want to claim in this thread. Posts will take priority of PM.

Thanks and post in here if you have any questions.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as giving away ... as you get something in return. Maybe call it Leasing?

So the deal is that a person borrows a site from you, improves it, makes you revenue, hosts it and then hands it back to you?

Just wanted to simplify your post...

No. They can keep it as long as they like making revenue on the site by placing their ads / etc / etc. Just dont want someone to take the site from me and sell it right away. Once it becomes a developed site, contact me.

...so you can what? Ask for a portion of the profit? And what's to keep the dishonest people here from telling to stick it once they get it from you?

I'm not harping on you, just trying to understand your intention and motivation behind this rather strange 'offer'.

Yeah, but he's saying you can't sell it, etc... so who retains ownership of the domain registration? If you do, you're not giving anything away.

The domain is transfered to the new owner by a free push to a godaddy.com account. That is specified in the original post.

I am off to bed now, as I have to wake up early for work. If the sites are not taken by tomorrow evenging, they will just site or redirect traffic, or something.

In that case, what's to stop someone taking the site and the domain and not continuing to follow the other conditions? You'd have a hard job proving any form of agreement.
