At the risk of sounding prideful (and I'm not... just ask my wife...) - creator of Yahoo! games - NY Times best-selling author - creator of stupidest site ever, virtual-whassup.com (see, I can admit my failures too!) and author of the upcoming Twitter Power - http://www.joelcomm.com/twitter_power.html Joel
Hardly a bottom feeder! You are asking questions... that puts you way ahead of the masses who think they know everything. I never stop asking questions. The more I ask, the more I realize I don't know. 1) Select a niche that fits you. Don't try to just catch the latest wave. 2) Do the tasks that are a fit for you. Partner, hire or outsource the rest. 3) Build an attractive site and add content on a regular basis. 4) Never stop learning. How's that? Joel
Joel's a great guy I met him at affiliate summit east miami like 1.5 years ago. He's very real, he was announcing the last contestants in the next internet millionaire then.
Joel, You don't know me. We've never met. Yet, I want to thank you for everything you've given me. I worked a full time job that I hated while working on my bachelors degree. I was miserable. I worked 40 to 60 hours a week in a hospital security job in addition to having a full course load at school. Every night I had to physically fight people, get bled and spit on, baby sit criminals in the ER, and move dead people around. I was always looking for something that I could use to make a living. I knew that there had to be a better way, and it was only a matter of finding it. Then a little over a year ago, while surfing the web, I stumbled upon your blog joelcomm.com. You inspired me through your success to learn about making money online and running my own websites. I started teaching myself in my spare time how to make webpages. I ordered your book "The Adsense Code" and read it from cover to cover several times. I absorbed everything I could and applied it to making my own sites. Thanks to you Joel, for the month of November, my website income surpassed that of my old dangerous hospital job. I no longer work at that job, but the milestone is no less important to me. I plan to keep growing and learning. I see no limit in my possibilities now. What you have given me is priceless. You've given me the knowledge and tools to succeed and attain true freedom, and for that I am so very grateful. Thank you for everything that you do Joel. Regards, David H.
