This is a question I always wanted to ask here at DP, because I know many are promoting this product. But does PPC work? Using google adwords at the moment, I can see all bids are well over 0.50$ not to mention the 1$, 2$ and so forth. I mean this product pays its affiliates 36$ , it has to convert in most 70 hops just to get your investment back. Well I tried PPC using the highest traffic keyword , but also long tails with lower search traffic, and lost quite a lot of money until now. Nothing converted in hundreds of hops. Has annyone had success with this product using ppc?
I am promoting it with banner ads (yes, you all heard right) that i made myself. I have had moderate success with them, the positive thing about this is that my ppc is around $0.07. I had the same problem with ppc search network, crazy high bids etc. It`s a great product, Swerd should be proud!
if you could share what ad company you are successful with that would be a whole lot of help for us all. I tried a few myself and nothing converts , not one sale.
I use Google Adwords, to a lander (softish pre-sell) Set your bids to "preferred cost bidding" Hope this helps!
I tried Google Adwords with this product for about a month. I got the traffic but didn't have much luck on the sales. It was expensive and I was not able to make back my investment. I hope you have better luck than I did.
i mailed this offer today and 428 clicks and 0 sales.. did not convert with my clients... good ebook layout and topic.
I had a really profitable (for me) campaign in September. October and November were still profitable, but barely. I'm not a big player though, so I'm not doing huge numbers.
for me ppc worked on this product back in july / august ... started to slow in september and from there it got so bad that i aborted ... i'm sure some people are making money from it, otherwise they wouldn't be paying so much - no one wants to run at a loss ... i think the trick is finding the right long tails
When a product (or niche) gets huge like this one has, it becomes much more difficult to make a profit with PPC but there are some steps you can take that will help this out and will give you a good opportunity to make money. hopefully you had tracking code on e4e ty page. after some time, you narrow down to the kws that have made conversions and converted at a cost less than the payout. You then create landing pages that are designed around those specific keywords. This will give you better quality scores with google and will also give you better conversions as it is an exact match to what the searcher was looking for. For example, if Homemade windmill was a kw that you had made conversions with you would make a landing page about homemade windmill and point that kw to that landing page. You would do this like this. www.yourwebsitesname.com/homemadewindmill.html That way you are only using one domain. I have campaigns were I have 10 or more different landing pages. It has always improved the conversions. You just need the data to point you in the right direction. this is kind of basic ppc info but I know that there are many DPers at different knowledge levels. best of luck.
Time to move away from this product and come back when Gas/Oil prices skyrocket again. $1.50 Gallon gas is not doing any good for conversions!
I totally agree with the above poster. I think the sales of this product is directly tied with ecomonmic concerns of energy and energy geo-political stability. Gas/energy prices always go up in the late spring / early summer. I would hold off on your campaigns until then. Watch the local news etc. When they start talking about "OMG Gas > $2.00" or "Predictions of summer driving season" etc I would give it a go and see. Good Luck!
