Ok, so you wanna know how much money should my website make? How can I be sure I'm making the most money out of my visitors? Am I getting the right payment? Am I making too much or too little? So use this list to figure out how much you should be making, it's based on personal experiences, so RESULTS MAY VARY, and it's not 100% accurate (it cannot ever be 100%, but I would BET ON IT): (this is based on POSSIBLE google adsense payments; in no way does it represent an exact science or 100% accurate results) MINIMUM RANGE ALEXA (low technical audience) ---> MAXIMUM RANGE ALEXA (highly technical audience) :: MINIMUM Avg Monthly (bad niche) -- MAX (good) Alexa Ranking Range of 30,000,000---> 1,000,000 :: Avg. Monthly: $1.00 -- $500.00 Alexa Ranking Range of 1,000,000---> 300,000 :: Avg. Monthly: $5.00 -- $3,000.00 Alexa Ranking Range of 300,000---> 100,000 :: Avg. Monthly: $50.00 -- $15,000.00 Alexa Ranking Range of 100,000---> 50,000 :: Avg. Monthly: $100.00 -- $50,000.00 Alexa Ranking Range of 50,000---> 25,000 :: Avg. Monthly: $1000.00 -- $250,000.00 Alexa Ranking Range of 25,000---> 1,000 :: Avg. Monthly: $150,000.00 -- $1,000,000.00 Alexa Ranking Range of 1,000---> 100 :: Avg. Monthly: $1,000,000.00 -- $XX,000,000.00 Alexa Ranking Range of 100---> 1 :: Avg. Monthly: Millions, and probably Billions of dollars. THIS ALSO DEPENDS ON YOUR NICHE / CATEGORY of website. If it's gaming... Use this chart, but subtract some % of the chart money. (Gamers don't click ads usually). If it's for older audiences, then add some % of chart money. (older audiences click ads) If it's Technical ... Probably a little less (technical people click less ads) If it's for non-Technical learning subjects... a little more. IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE OR MODIFICATION TO A RANGE, BASED ON YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE INFORM ME, I WILL UPDATE THE RANGES. LETS TRY TO MAKE THIS AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE.
No offense, but that table is not even remotely close. One of my competitor's sites is ranked 1,400 and is making close to $150,000 a month with all intangibles. And if your site is ranked 100-1000, you better be way above that. Guess it just depends on how many revenue platforms you utilize and how you implement them. You can have a 100,000 ranked site and easily make $4000-5000 a month. Hope this helps!
Waste of time. A pointless list. One of my sites, is ranked by Alexa at 1,008,000 - generates $800 a month. There are so many more factors to consider which make listing a ranking chart utterly pointless. Furthermore I suspect this chart was plucked straight out of your a** - I've discovered this forum is full of empty help and hints from people that are very subtly just spamming adsense 'expert' get rich quick blogs.
Well thanks for the chart but I think I am doing a bit better than the chart. My alexa rankings are not that good ;(
This is not even remotely close to what the actual figures might be,do you mean to say that websites like Lycos,deli.cio.us,Digg make 15000$/month they are in the millions my friend.
I'm think Alexa rank is no accurate. A website ecommerce can make more money than entertainment site, if same Alexa rank.
Ok let me be clear: THE TABLE IS BASED ON PERSONAL EXPERIENCE THE TABLE IS BASED ON GOOGLE ADSENSE EARNINGS, NOT OTHER AD REVENUE SERVICES / ECOMMERCE / TARGETED ADVERTISE... OTHERWISE YOU CAN MULTIPLY EACH OF THOSE BY 10 OR FACTORS OF 100 OR 1000. @plingboot, get out of here, you're a nobody, if you had an ounce of IQ, you would look at my website and see that it's not a "Get rich quick" site or a "adsense blog". And you obviously have a reading comprehension of ZERO, because the table is pretty accurate for most sites. @quantum and others: You're absolutely right, but it was my estimation of POSSIBLE google adsense revenues (factors such as SEO, ad placement, niche all can drastically change this TABLE!). I can say that after 25,000 the table becomes very inaccurate (but I have updated it now, to be more realistic, because obviously, after 25,000 you may use other stuff than just google adsense Anyway). I know sites, that are high click through rate, they have alexa ranking of 30,000 or so, and they make 300-400$ a month from variety of ads. But then there are sites that have 30,000 alexa ranking, and they can make 10,000$ or more. It cannot be totally accurate. But it's not a bad representation of reality. Again instead of flaming/critiquing/bashing the list, please provide your own statistics/alexa ranking and tell us if it matches closely.
Highly doubt that a 100,000 ranked site can make more than 100-500$ a month through google adsense. Unless it has a whole host of other ad services and revenue methods. A 100,000 alexa ranking site gets in vicinity of 500 uniques --> 3,000 uniques per day (this is very accurate) and that 3,000 is even exaggerated if most of your users actually use alexa! And even if you have 5,000 uniques per day, adsense can only get you around 300-1000$ per month as an estimate.
well its a useless mine three sites have Alexa Ranking Range of 1,000,000---> 300,000 and i make around $3000 per months from adsense.
@Tarkan: Alexa rankings are decided by the number of people who choose to install Alexa toolbar (and hence number of people who choose to visit). Now, you will always find an inclination towards webmasters/technical sites on Alexa. So though it's good to see our rankings going up, it may give you really really false positivies... probably the list is working for you but I am afraid it can't be generalized.
Yours is a medical site, very few people have alexa installed. So you may be getting anywhere from 4,000 Uniques per day to 15,000 Uniques per day. How close am I? (If you don't wanna reveal your daily uniques, that's ok, I understand) The table is accurate way of telling how much you should at least be making compared to at most (different niche). But it can depend on niche.
It all depends on the niche your site in. One of my site has alexa of less than 25,000 (around 13,000 types) and makes only around $2500/month.
What a coincidence, I was reading a blog article on your site earlier today. 13,000 and only 2,500$. It's a lot but doesn't match the table, I will update the range a little. I don't have much experience with OVER 25,000 alexa ranking sites, it can be a very wide range. It can vary intensely. I wonder what's the niche, I bet it's probably web development, programming, or gaming related. Am I close?
If you want to make it remotely accurate, throw the whole Alexa part in the trash can. Also: Avg. Monthly: $1000.00 -- $250,000.00 You do realize how pointless that is don't you? The difference between $1k and a quarter of a million dollars a month is so vast you may as well say "Between a bit and a lot".
