Is a disguised link affecting my sales? Please help

    Hello,

Im a newbie at affiliate marketing. Last week I was making 1 sale per every 102 hops. I decided to disguise my hop link on sunday, forwarding a web address i own to my hop link, and since then I havent made one sale, although I've received 252 hops.

Could the disguised link be affecting my sales?? Can a customer purchase a product through a disguised link??

I have no idea because I'm a newbie please help.

    Thank you!

I've made sure it works, it redirects automatically to my hop link. I thought it would increase sales but sales have come to a halt instead. Could it just be the economy? Could my aff link be being hacked?

When you go to clickbank payment page, is your affiliate name showing at the bottom?

How long have you been promoting the product? Maybe it just doesn't convert very well. It seems like its getting tracked ok though.

Also I have another question, can we hyperlink our hoplinks to images(such as advertising banners)? Thanks for all your help

The way I see it, if ClickBank is reporting the same number of hops you normally get, then there is no fraud going on. I don't think there's any reasonable way for a person to steal sales without also stealing hops.

I think you may be right pinch penny. I guess hops & sales have been slow lately I guess it may just be the economy?

Is there a way for people to hijack our links? (besides simply switching their own affiliate names with ours on their sales page of course).

But is there any way for them to hijack other sales? If so how can we prevent it?

Thanks for starting this thread, AffiliateEsprit7. I'm behind you, haven't started yet, planning to do so over Christmas/New Year when I have time; have been thinking about exactly the same things as you. Pleased to hear you just had a sale!
