I hope you guys know about contact importer scripts. I am creating a social network site and I need a contact importer script. If any of you can recommend a good script it would be nice.

Also I need to know technically, how exactly these scripts work. So, if you can recommend any article/site that discusses about this, it wud be great.

adluo.com is the best one contact importer script I used before.
they are offering fast upgrade for all scripts they sold, it is the most important as the webmail was always changing.
try to use aol contact importer, many websites who are selling contact importer script but they can't get result from aol, but adluo.com contact import is working well for aol.com.
they are also offering customize contact importer and integration service.

I have not ran across such a script by itself. Have you looked at the clone scripts out there for myspace and facebook. You may find one of these that also has a importer like you are looking for.

I found this one and I tested the onle demos :
    tell-all-friends.com
I have tested it, all contact importers are working. It has also an admin panel to configure the script.
