SERP displays copyright info

For one of my keywords, Google displays copyright info on index page. It ignores any Meta tags and evven any other content on the page and goes below to the copyright info. Why? Can I do something to make it right or is it just upto Google?

Usually it is up to Google. There isn't a meta tag or anything to override this. There must be reasons why Google sometimes displays the meta information and sometimes a chunk of page text. It may just be a matter of rewriting the meta tag to please Google more. Or perhaps there is something about the copyright info that makes Google think it is relevant text.

One thing you could try is adding some additional related text that includes that specific keyword.

What is the url and specific keyword? Knowing that may help us diagnose the problem.

Is your content on that page unique? Is the meta description unique and different from the content on the page?

I would see if maybe your content was indexed somewhere else, if so, that could be why google is not choosing to display it as a snippet.

how long is the meta description?

12-13 words seems to be the cutoff point where under that, they will either use description or a text snippet, and over that they more usually take the meta description, unless a longtail search calls for a snippet to be shown in which case they still will.

Maybe Google has indexed the page as it was "under construction" and had no content exept for the copyright info?
In such case the bot simply didn't manage to index the new content.
Try indexing page by yourself and see if it helps.

Include your keyword beside that copyright word, then use it as anchor text for your important page.

hmm..seems like more on Google. Well the keyword is not a major one...its a company name typed in with spaces. So, I think this could be one of the reasons as well. And yes, the same content is indexed for the right keywords. I just found that somebody typed in company name with spaces after each letter. So, I checked myself and found copyright info. Thought to clear my doubts here. Thanks all for replying.
