Just keep wroking at it, and don't let others make you think you will not succeed.

Take for example DLM comment. Hey makes me want to work harder not give up and quit like he wants us to. :)

Just curious, why are you so desperate to rank for a term nobody searches for?

What you are doing is.. to put it politely, pointless.

Google Forum, Google Tips and things related to your site that people will actually be searching for.

See, for Google Club you are fighting it out against nearly 20k other exact match pages for a term that may net you 140 visits a month.

It's a bit like having a knife fight for crumbs when there's terms that are like walking in and picking up a sandwich. :D

What would you suggest I go for then? A forum is a forum though, and not a lot really can be done I guess.

    What generated those stats btw?

you can be in google first's page even if you have a blank site, mainly because your site is ranked in the SERP's firsly, based on the number of your backlinks and the quality of these sites linking to you (authority sites). How long you stay in that position however can also be affected by your site's content, the competitiveness of the
    keyword you've selected etc, etc

your site has around 23K backlinks but is only around 5 months old. Some people think this is a big plus but
experience tells me this is not so. 23k links in 5 months, in Google's eyes, may not look like those links have been acquired the 'natural' way...

I am surprised you are even in the 19 position at all. i think eventually, the 'google slap' will catch up with your site.....

Is 23K links in 5 months good?

    I haven't done anything unnaturally.

    I hope they don't slap me. :(

Ask yourself why you built the site in the first place...

..do you want to sell your site's traffic or want to generate revenues
directly from the traffic you're getting?

"papua new guinea" or "weight loss" etc, are indeed popular terms that people
search for...but these are simply browsing keywords

what are they really searching for in "Papua New Nuinea"....

perhaps long tail keywords like " Papua New Guinea Discount Hotels" would be
a more profitable term to focus.....( or "weight loss pill" perhaps)

they are, after all, long tail keywords, but are more targeted.

People who seach for these terms know what they want or are ready to
    buy....

Besides, as someone has already mentioned previously in this thread...what
is the point of being number for a search term that either people
aren't searching for....or keywords that are unlikely to bring you some revenues?

    I hope this helps...

Yes it does and that makes sense.

Is this from an adwords perspective? I am guessing those terms would be fairly cheap when compared with Papua New Guinea on its own.

    Due right it'll be :)

Just another advantage of targeting long tail keywords...

My business however is cheaper....i don't deal with adwords, nor with any
    PPC...my business is free traffic...

I can see there have been 5 changes in a span of 4 years...

Previous owners could have done something else with the site...
(checkpagerank.net shows your site as 5 months old while
archive.org shows it's actually around 4 years old)

    Here's what I would.....if I own "ugfc.org" ( NOTE: this is, if the
    site's mine)

    * sell it
    * after doing my own reseach, register a new domain (targeted, 3 phrase
    word, domain)

    * get in indexed within the next 24-48 hours
    * article marketing to a few high ranked quality article directories (long term);
article marketing to the top social bookmarking and Web2.0 sites
    * monetise the site with adsense, affiliate products etc, etc
    * continue providing quality content ( in effect, you are also
continuouly building backlinks - indirectly, that is- as people will start to link to your site because of the quality of your site's content)

Then when you become good at it....just rinse and repeat... register another domain.....expand your 'real estate' (virtual)....leverage

..of course, all of the above, is just me.....what I'll do if things were up to me:).

    This is your site...your call....

Micro Niche Finder, link in signature.

It does a whole bunch of stuff, it's brilliant for picking out high traffic keywords with very little competition. Unfortunately for you, "Google Club" is not one of them lol.
