It seems people either can't read, or cant take a telling so I thought I would make this thread to hopefully save both the mods and you some time, especially if your likely to get the same answer from them anyway a lot of these questions frequently pop up in suggestions and feedback too.. Never Whine about infractions, you'll just get another. don't Ask why another member has been banned, it's none of your business as it's between that member and the mods don't post under a dupe account, the mods won't buy excuses like “a friend was asking†use the search feature before you post, you'd be amazed at what you can find. always forward any PM spam to a moderator otherwise they can't do anything about it. use the report () button to report any posts which break the rules or to ask to close sales threads. don't bother to ask mods to remove, edit or delete a negative itrader if it was left by mistake, in error or too soon. itraders are there forever. report any itraders from members whom you have NOT done any deals with in the given thread, to do so use the report () button next to the itrader or PM a moderator/admin it's definitely not a good idea to slag of the moderators, or your life on DP will most likely end very abruptly if you do. PM a moderator to edit a sales thread after the 8 hours editing time is up, but only if there is good reason to. you can forget asking for a name change, it wont happen you'd be wasting your time and don't even think about signing up a dupe account because you can't get your name changed. don't keep posting/asking the same question, they will just be removed wait until a member or moderator replies to the original thread. don't even bother suggesting that new members are prevented from sending pm's until they've met x number of posts, it's been suggested to death already and they all got exactly the same answer. Shawn will add any new forums as and when he sees fit, you may just be wasting your effort on this one i'm afraid although you never know, pigs might just grow wings one of these days If you don't like DP your welcome to leave noones asking you to stay, mods won't delete your account just because you dont like it here You can get in touch with a mod here I will try to update this thread when I can with more usefull info if and when the need arises.
the main problem is people, and lots of noobs don't bother to read/search first, once this thread goes out of page 1, you will see people doing the stuff from the list you have there
Yup I completely agree hopefully even if it helps a small handfull of people and saves useless threads from being posted then it's done its job.
I have asked a question in the forum BUT only after not being able to find the answer through the search function or reading through the rules. Alot of people don't use the search function as they don't know it exists....lord knows we've all been in that boat before.
Yeah and in some cases the search feature isn't a lot of help due to the limit on the number of letters. At least you did use the search feature, a lot of people dont bother, or even bother scrolling down a bit as in a lot of cases i've seen posts asking exactly the same question on the same page, even a couple of threads down. The point of using the search feature is to at least try to find the answer to your questions first, incase it's something thats been asked before otherwise you may end up looking like a bit of a n00b if you can't find it then there's surely not much harm in asking the question, if you know what I mean.
I'll second that lol, even though people on here speak good english they are just to lazy to read something right infront of their noses. I figured this thread may at least help some people who cant be bothered browsing the forum for their answer before they post it.
LOL it's getting them to read it in the first place that's the problem though. Allthough IMO memory shouldn't really be a factor when it comes to rules, common sense should take over here, sadly that too is lacking in a lot of people here, else there wouldn't be a need for a thread like this
This is really a good post. But it is useless here in DP as most members don't even bother to read it.
