I think that sounds legit. From my perspective. You always need to change you product to make it have the most value, both to your consumer, and your pocketbook. This is just an example of refinement that is creating a stronger search engine. Rock on.
what a lol. Have you guys slept for 2 months or what? Google had a major glitch in late October and is still delivering weird results. Huge and reputed websites were replaced at top rankings by: - mfa's - blogger blogs with no content - unrelated sites And yeah, Google is so weird these days, they are the ones delivering tools to manipulate the results: now it's search wiki... Wanna promote my sites or do you prefer to remove competition? pffff...
I think Googles Algoritm definitely takes the URL into concideration. My Google forum is now on the second page, and I only really created the forum a few weeks back, and only upgraded to Vbulletin a few days ago. I am happy with the progress. Dunno what to say but 90% from the people lost good ranks in serps. So this change of G is so good after all ?
It seems that, it doesn't matter even if you make quality information, unless it's unique and original information (that can't be found elsewhere) or a product/service thats unique/original... Your ranking will never get high enough for google to give you more than say around 200-500 uniques a day (which I think is the max you can get with QUALITY content (not necessarily unique)). Of course, I don't know how time affects this. Over the years, letting a website age, doesn't seem to help, ranking simply goes down when incoming links go down and when content is less updated (kind of makes me wonder why extremely old websites sometimes get ranked well). So if you want to reach let's say, 1000s + uniques a day, it has to consistent unique valuable information, not just quality information. Making a tutorial for "JavaScript classes" won't get you much ranking, because there are so many others, but one about "How to make your own keyboard" will...
