A DP member posted a thread complaining of low earnings. One member responded that it may be due to a few factors, one of them being LINK COLOR. Here's the blog entry where he discusses this factor: http://www.donkeyblogger.com/which-adsense-colors/ I decided to gauge this factor and see how much of an effect it has. To test this theory, I changed the link colors on one of my test blogs. Yesterday: 12/2 5.58% CTR Today: 12/3 4.71% CTR Note: Everything else is the same. Will give this a few more days to see net effect of color change on the link.
link as well as text color surely make difference in CTR. even adsense blog suggests that you blend in your ad and make the ads part of your website
i agree with you my friend.. thats should be blended with your website colors. its not just affect CTR's but also makes your webpages look good..
I have tried several colours and when I first change then I do get a slight increase in clicks so I keep changing colours every so often but always blend them.
I agree. The links should always blend in with your site, so as not to stand out too much. People then will click more on your links by mistake if nothing else.
That's what I'm testing. How much of an effect blending (old) vs semi-blending (new) has on CTR. I'm using a sharper contrast color for the link.
Well to me, that is somehow connected to ads blending. If you change the color of the link into different one and it does not blend well with the site and content, then it will definitely cause the ctr to go lower.

Wouldn't this result in lesser $ per click because the visitor was 'tricked' into clicking due to the blend? This will also be part of my testing. Click value between Blend vs. slight Contrast links.
It's still early in the day, only 5 hours after Adsense reset. So far, we've got 13.51% CTR $6.98 ECPM Compared to 5.44% CTR $13.97 ECPM for the day before.
I will say yes. However, data collection might based on a period, not one day. Monitor for at least a week or two week
I think link Colors don't affect Adsense CTR. the color only to make the ads look neat with the blog. and of course not mean anything to image ads..
To get correct results you need to test minimum a week for each change, because: 1) CTR isn't static and if you had 5% today doesnt mean you will have 5% tomorrow. 2) After just changing the colors you will get more clicks, but this effect wears off.
