What do you think my proper 'Yahoo' domain name worth?

I just recently bought 'www.yahoo.ms' - It doesn't have a website yet but I am thinking about doing a Yahoo Affiliate website. What do you think the domain name is worth?

I am not sure about the exact amount, but i think the value of this domain is about a million dollar.
........wait a minute, dont be so happy.........
cause i am not talking about the amount you may get from selling. I am talking about the amount you may get fined for having this domain.
And, i also think it was not a very wise decision to announce about this domain in a public forum like this too.
Dont take this otherwise, i am just trying to warn you about the risk.

hey, i will tell you...there would be no problem...you cant start a company named yahoo..

you will keep yahoo as a sub form and a full detail...like an abbrevation and start your site..

you can sell for $1000+...and who is yahoo to catch you ? they have zero right to catch other domains and they dont have access to your portfolio... YAHOO is pvt ltd and not government..

Go with your decision and dont get rid of these kind of people...

YES I also think that you don't need to worry about such things.... You are the registered owner of that domain. Under whatever circumstances, how is that possible for yahoo to get you?

 

When you register a domain the registrar only check whether it is available or not. But if anyone things that someone holding a domain is breaking the copyright law or harming them in any other way they can file a dispute to ICANN. They can file a complain to a court and if they are the legal owner the decision is most likely going to their favor. I also think it is injustice, but it doesnt matter what u or i think.

My point here is, registering a domain name in your name doesnt warranty that u can keep it. You may want to do some search on cybersquatting before taking any decision.

 

I rhink you can be safe from TM coz yahoo has also a meaning lol, but careful if you develop this domain.

By law you cannot profit off of the brand name of another commercial entity. This domain would have no value whatsoever if it weren't for the yahoo brand. That means any value you derive from it is a TM infringement. Because Yahoo is so well known anything you do with the domain (even if it is not yahoo related) could and would (in a court of law) be construed as an infringement.

If Yahoo believes that your domain name is confusingly similar to its YAHOO trademark it may bring either a UDRP arbitration or a federal lawsuit against you. If it brings a federal cybersquatting lawsuit, it could potentially obtain a judgment of up to $100,000.

 

Yeah there is a threa donhere of a guy who had the term classmates in his domain and was legally forced to give his domain (for free) to classmates.com. Don't kid yourself, listen to what people are saying or you will find yoruself in trouble.
