Wordpress is one of the best out there (if not THE best). It's available for free and there are lots of free themes available for it.

Wordpress is the best by far. Even better any descent hosting provider provides one click setup through your cpanel.

Yes, you can use adsense in wordpress, there are even themes that come "Adsense ready". :) Wordpress is a very powerful CMS as well as blogging platform. I definitely suggest it. There are many more resources out there for people who use Wordpress then any other blog platform available. I love it. It's easy to design around and very easy to use.

    LMAO - You're so shameless!

If you're being hosted by a free hosting provider (which doesn't come with the ease of CPanel), you can find very specific, simple install instruction in the wordpress zip file. I know things like what Kerplunc said can seem very appealing but if you have no desire to BUY hosting and you are not able to set up wordpress or another CMS/blogging platform of your own, you can always talk someone into doing it for free, especially around here. Someone who knows what they're doing should only take about 10 minutes to set it up for you.

Edit: If you do want to pay for hosting, make sure you shop around. I usually check out review sites. Some only allow you to pay yearly, which I didn't need, so I personally went with Hostgator. I haven't had any problems with them yet.

Yes most of the time you can get free hosting with 1-click Wordpress install options. Also there are hundreds of beautiful, free Wordpress themes to download & use.

Oh btw just in case you need a custom Wordpress theme coded, PM me. I am also providing free hosting from my personal DreamHost account to those who want to have a personal blog & hire me to code a Wordpress theme for them :)

No, wordpress is not actually "free". wordpress.com is free in the sense that they will host the blog for you. But in wordpress.com, you cannot ad adsense or any html code. For that you need to pay for web host like hostgrator and host it with wordpress.org.

If you don't understand much about hosting, I would suggest that you go for blogger.com and use your own domain name.

I know most wordpress won't like the idea of using blogger blogs, but the fact is blogger is good enough for practical purposes, although you won't get many features. Finally, your blog's quality doe not depend on the type of blog platform that you use, it depends upon the content of the blog.

Wordpress is definitely a best and free script.

You don't need any VPS or dedicated server in the start, just any shared hosting plan will work for you.

It is very rare to have VPS or Dedicated server only for blog.

you can get a free HOSTED wordpress installation at wordpress.com

But, if you have your own hosting, wherever it is, you can also download the entire Wordpress package for free and install it on your own server, which you can then ad Google Adsense or whatever you want to it.

    That's at Wordpress.org

    Same people.

WordPress is the best. I have used it for years. Not only is it FREE but it is also very powerful. Once you get good at it you can do many things. WordPress also sends out quite a bit of updates, has many themes and plugins.

WordPress and Blogger are both free, easy to get up and running in almost no time. If you want to "own" your blog, i.e. host it independently of WordPress.org or Blogger.com, then WordPress is the better choice. Most hosting providers make WordPress set up a snap - just click a few buttons sort of process. Not so with Blogger.

basically there are two ways you can go with. First take help in setting up your blog (there are web services you can google on) which will get your blog in less than a day. Second you can do it yourself using wordpress. its not that hard to setup using wordpress.

tough part is now figuring out how to add the quality content to your blog. you will have to review a lot to see whats the best wordpress plugin which can fit your needs. i use a few of them and quite happy to see the quality.
