Dogs, cats and all pets are very popular. It's a good thing and a bad thing! Good because people love their pets, bad because there are so many sites it's hard to get the traffic. As far as monetizing, there must be a ton of pet affiliate programs that you can promote. Search the net for pet or animal affiliates.

Well, You all need to do articles and submit them. Make sure you provide good content! Also, it's very important to work on SEO stuff. That way You can get targeted free traffic. You can also do PPC to promote Your website. To monetize Your website I suggest affiliate products and finally to create Your own product. I would start by going to ezine articles and pull up some articles on Yorkshire Terriers and see which ones have the highest page views and see what they are about, then what product they are promoting with the articles...write a few of your own articles on those topics, then create a squidoo lens and hub page if you don't have one already for your blog) link your articles and lens and hub pages to your blog/website. Then I would go over to elance.com or any outsource place and have someone write me a free tips ebook on yorkshire terriers (most viewed articles from ezine topic) , then monetize the ebook as well as have the outsourcer write a paid ebook. Then I would put the paid ebook on clickbank and paydotcom with affiliate tools, take out several different clickbank id's, cross promote through my own affiliate links to increase gravity and make my main page of my blog/website my own product sales letter. Then join all the yorkie forums and post on dog blogs leaving my link to help with backlinks and traffic. Of course you could also add an ebay product feed at the bottom of your pages for dog clothes and carriers which yorkie owners (I'm One) just absolutely love! A lot of work, I know, but well worth the work in the end!

Clickbank is definitely a good place to start. Look at the dog-related products there and begin by writing reviews of those. Add more content to your site, articles etc then do the article marketing, blog comments etc to get more in-bound links and traffic. There are also dog products on Commission Junction and other large affiliate sites that you can promote as well. Vet ads and dog health ads from Google AdSense also pay quite well on a CPC basis if you can target that niche.
