Hello guys. . I have a question about my blog. I am trying to get rid of the 'about author' part of my blog but I don't know how to do it. Check out my blog here The blog is empty because I am barely starting it. Can someone help me?? I went into theme editor and can't find out how to get rid of the author part at the top right side of the blog. Thanks in advance.
You'll have to edit your sidebar.php template file in your Design >> Theme Editor and take that section out. If it doesn't show up in that section and the sidebar is a widgetized sidebar, try messing around with your widgets and taking that section off of your sidebar. Chances are it's in your sidebar.php file though. Let me know if that helps you any.
Thanks for responding. I tried messing around in the sidebar.php this is the code: <div id="sidebar"> <ul> <?php /* Widgetized sidebar, if you have the plugin installed. */ if ( !function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') || !dynamic_sidebar() ) : ?> <!-- Author information is disabled. Uncomment and fill in your details if you want to use it. <li><h2>author</h2> <p>this is cool dog</p> </li> --> <li class="widget_categories"> <h2>Category</h2> <ul> <?php wp_list_cats('sort_column=name&optioncount=1'); ?> </ul> </li> <li class="widget_archives"><h2>Archives</h2> <ul> <?php wp_get_archives('type=monthly'); ?> </ul> </li> <li class="widget_categories"> <h2>Category</h2> <ul> <?php wp_list_cats('sort_column=name&optioncount=1'); ?> </ul> </li> <li class="widget_archives"><h2>Archives</h2> <ul> <?php wp_get_archives('type=monthly'); ?> </ul> </li> <?php endif; ?> </ul> </div> I tried erasing everything and also removing some stuff but I can't seem to figure it out
Between that and your taking a look at your actual source code for the site, it looks like that about section comes before the sidebar. The only other thing I can suggest is to look in the "index.php" file and see if this code is there <div id="body_right"> <div id="body_right_content"> <div id="main_about"> <img src="http://siteflippingmethod.com/home/wp-content/themes/notepad_second/images/!img01.gif" width="91" height="120" alt="" /> <strong>ABOUT</strong> <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Quisque sed felis. Aliquam sit amet felis. Mauris semper, velit semper laoreet dictum, quam diam nec...</p> <a href="#"><span>ReadMore</span></a> <div class="clear"></div> </div> Code (markup): It's kind of hard to tell without seeing the theme files themselves. I usually have to weed through things. Beyond that, like I said before, check your widgets.
I couldn't see now About tag, i think you have solved it, yes? PM me for any additional task that you needed. Good luck
Well... you've done removing the "about aothor" section. However, I highly recommend you read the "terms of use" file of the template/theme again, if it does exist or you didn't delete it, although you may be using a free and open source template/theme. No offense, but I don't think there's any reason for anyone to infringe the license
haaha...its very simple.. just got to admin panel click Design->widget and in the right side u can see the "Current widgets" select the widget and click remove..thats it hope it works
This theme author normally place about in index.php or header.php not in sidebar.php. This is not widget surely.
Usually, if it's a free temlate (and I emphasize "usually") then you are permitted to remove certain items as long as you keep the credits intact.
