Depends what you're looking for in my opinion.

Are you building a quality site that you want people to share with their friends or other people, that other webmasters will link to etc?

There is evidence to suggest an unusually high CTR equates to the same earnings as you would earn with a more modest CTR because the click prices are reduced for advertisers.

I believe a 10% CTR is a modest and good CTR and you should be able to achieve that if your site and content is targetted just by placing a large rectangle or Adlinks at the bottom of your articles.

If you want a really high CTR and couldn't give a damn if your site looks like it's designed only for making money then try placing a large rectangle above the fold and before your content - below a title but before the content works good on article style sites.

I would consider over 15% to be a good CTR

10% to me seems a little high. I hover around 3%.

It depends on what type of site you have. If you run a forum with 1000s of ad impressions it will be different, because returning forum members aren't likely to click on your google ads.

CTR is the click through ratio, # of clicks / # of impressions. So it doesn't really do anything other than tell you what percantage of clicks you are getting relative to your ad impressions.

I think anything over 3% is pretty good, though it depends on the type of content. 30% imho is unrealistic.

Why do people insist on asking such useless, "it all depends on everything" type of questions?

will be subject of investigation by Google.

    I would say 10 to 20%

It is true that if one couldn't be bothered about the look of the webpage, Adsense ads immediately below the title will bring in high CTR.

Well this question really depends on what type of website it is. I have many sites that average around 1% CTR and still make $5+ a day. It all depends on what kind of site you have IMHO.

I agree with JackB. There are just too many variables involved. Any responses you get from questions like that are likely to be either misleading or useless.

I consistently score in that 30% range. From what I've gathered from reading posts on this forum, quite a few people have ctr's at that level and higher.

i heard from many webmasters CTR is 0.3-3% usually

if you have 30% i think google will ban you and delete account

3-5% seems like a good figure to me, but you hope for 30-50% when your site is bombarded by 3 cent paying starware.com ads as mine is...

Why would they ban me if my clicks are legitimate (which they are)? I've scored in that range since I started with Adsense 8 months ago.

There's nothing evil about about a high ctr as long as the clicks driving the high ctr are legitimate.
