......... "Lashkar-e-Taiba is behind the terrorist acts in the city," Maria told reporters. "The terrorists were from a hardcore group in the L-e-T."

India's Home Ministry could not be immediately reached for comment.

The group has long been seen as a creation of the Pakistani intelligence service to help wage its clandestine war against India in disputed Kashmir. ............. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081130/ap_on_re_as/as_india_shooting

Wait a min. Wasn't Pakistan an all time US ally?
How come terrorist groups were allowed to exist in Pakistan for so long? I am sure CIA knew all along about them, but decided probably to play them against others and never really pushed Pakistan to bann them until after 9/11.
Karma sooner or later asks for the bill.

Wait what? You are blaming the CIA(a US intelligence agency) for allowing terrorist groups to exist in a country that is not the US. First, What happened to the sovereignty of nations? Second, the US listed the group thats thought to be responsible as a terrorist group 6 years ago and the CIA has been bombing this same group and its allies, inside Pakistani borders I might add for a few years now. So I really fail to see how you can reasonably claim that the CIA is responsible for orchestrating the actions of a terrorist group it has been crossing Pakistani borders to fight.

^ lol, welcome to the REAL world. You really think CIA is an innocent cute little cuddly genius? They have been raping and killing and invading countries for years. Don't ask me, ask a LATIN AMERICAN what he thinks of the CIA.

M5 - But for members of the religion you defend and the country you're from we'd have already captured that murdering thug bin laden, but your crew thinks he's some kinda hero... as you probably do yourself (based on the stream of anti-US / pro Islam rhetoric) but know better than admitting. Maybe you oughta crawl off your high-horse and stay on topic in at least one thread... watching you alternate between spreading your prejudices against all things US and all things Indian is just getting tiresome.

We deserve this, an letter from a fishermen union president to the DCP had been dismissed as a HOAX and still worse our policemen are not armed enough to combat with. A ridiculous .303 gun to fight terrorism? And its not a 15-year-old 1993, Mumbai eversince has been witnessing intermittent blasts almost one edition every year!

I like to quote India Today's editor
"The most dangerous place in the world is our neighbour, but we refuse to identify Pakistan, whose fastest growing industry is jihad, as the source and sponsor of terror that challenges India's existence.

Learn from Israel, the nation that never sleeps, how to be alive when you're surrounded by people who deny you your nationhood."

I am sure its gonna frustate some of you. Anyway, the mistake lies within us and theres none to blame! We go and elect the same rot to power over and over again (worse some of us dont bother to go and vote at all). Sure its time we seriously think of politics in India. Its come to a point of survival (do or die). We need to change stand on people like Mulayams who openly support terrorism for their vote banks.

No doubt, all of our politicians are filth, but lets elect one who is at least not an antinational! Wake up intellectual India wake up!!

M5 - The world isnt a popularity contest and honestly nobody here gives a rats ass what a Cuban thinks of the CIA. We care even less what some terrorist wannabe conspiracy-buff from Pakistan thinks of us. Granted, you think your opinion is earthshattering and significant, but its just the same old "US is the devil" shit we hear from teeny-boppers outta the third world who think they know everything because they read conspiracy sites when they shouldve been studying. We understand you hate the US. Whooptiedo.

Now fold your little hatred up for the nite and go finish your homework like a good boy.

RobJones, why don't you do something good with your life instead of debating on line with "teeny boppers"? ;)

    I am done here. Bye.

Did I say the CIA wasn't killing? No, I said the CIA was bombing(killing) this terrorist group so it doesn't make sense to blame the CIA for crimes this group has committed when the CIA has consistently violated national sovereignty to eliminate this same group.

In Latin America the CIA did things to benefit the US so how does the US benefit by perpetuating violence between two allies?

If you spend an inordinate amount of print derailing threads just to insult other's homelands you're gonna draw fire... just kinda works like that. Tone it down and I'll gladly oblige.

It's the CIA which is responsible for creation of all these terrorist organizations.. They supported these organizations (Al-Qaida) during their proxy war against Russian commmunists in Afghanistan ..It was the root cause of all problems..

I guess you didn't take the hints from Obama who said he will invade Pakistan. Remember that? Yes... exactly..

The CIA is a tool used by the elite for their own evil intentions. These imperialists don't like to see PROGRESS, especially in India which was growing at an alarming rate. They can't control China but they can surely control India by putting it to war with Pakistan. What's worse, these two are nuclear states. We should all take things into perspective rather than being childish and pointing fingers. Read history, you will find out more about the Al-CIAda

Thank you for that post freewebspace! :)

The same is the case with Pakistan.....

In the good old days, India was very close to Russia and to balance this, America supported Pakistan a lot.....and now...the same is beginning to haunt them...

    Regards,

The thread is about Paki Muslims killing people in India, but its easier to blame all problems on past assistance from the US than to acknowledge that Islamic hatred is a cancer that tries to kill everything it cannot assimilate.

Everyone knows that our government assisted some groups in their struggles against common enemies and those same forces now bite the hand that fed them. The world isnt perfect and there is reality in the phrase "my enemies enemy is my friend" at times. That said, blaming the acts of radical Islam on the US is an illogical argument. Frankly there are times others scream that the US MUST do something, but then those same speakers will later just as vehemently object to US interference. Those speakers are simply going to criticize regardless of the action taken, and their voices are ignored for that reason. Our government isnt responsible for fixing their woes.

Frankly anyone that wants to blame the US because some religious nut in Pakistan crossed into India and killed "infidels" is just stirring the pot for the fun of it. Go for it if it makes you feel better, it isnt like anyone is reading this forum to determine our next foreign policy decision. Gotta admit that those who hold that opinion are an entertaining read... but admittedly I have an odd sense of humor. :-P

I agree strongly with this, a lot of the young americans are brainwashed with silly conspiracy theories, which only ever seem to spread across the internet, but never make it to real media e.g T.V (but to these guys T.V/news is corrupted anyway). Also agree that they should spend their time getting an education then maybe they can form their own opinion.
