Unmetered is not the same as unlimited, and anyone that thinks they are going to get unlimited b/w or storage for $5/mo is delusional.
Best thread ever. So many people offering "unlimited" "unmetered" or "free" - nothing can be either without a catch.
There is no such thing as unlimited and unmetered means simply as long as you are a light user, you will have no problems. Most of these guys buy some crappy reseller account and turn around and sell tons of accounts and then drops the reseller account. I tried one off eBay when I first started out. It sounded great when I was less knowledgeable about hosting. It was $9.99 a year for unlimited everything. The feedback was great and they had 99.9% uptime. Great Deal! The problem was after about a month and after I left feedback I started seeing why it was so cheap. The uptime started off good and as time went by, it was about 10% uptime. This is a typical case. I tried a free one from here once and it was the same way. Point in case, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Don't bother with any free hosting or dirt cheap unless you know the owner well and you have testimony from someone who has been using it for a while. There are some good cheap hosting out there but it is rare. If they are honest upfront and give you limitations, you can normally feel safe throughout your time with them.
Well, to be fair. I use our own website hosting, so i feel confotable to sell it on to others.. http://www.juggleitall.org/ is one clients website who was happy to be mentioned. Their designer went a little OTT with the images being mostly over 1MB each. But the site runs well and has only had 2 outages of 30 mins or less since May 2008. This was due to a complete server upgrade and lots of security changes to help make the host better and faster. Everything is done now, and all outages were noted in the CP and in the news section of our hosting site ~ Mike
Ha, their website is unavailable... Not surprising... Well , that is good, so other people cannot get scammed. I guess there are just some "Bad Apples" out there. Report them to the Internet Watchdog Foundation (IWF) [Google Them] You may be able to do something about them there, but you shall need some proof. Good Luck, ~ Mike

Yes, i have done before. I used hostgator and did not get what i expected. This was a little while back now. They caused me issues with databases and loss of data, despite telling me it was secure. ~ Mike
Few months back uni-host cheated so many members here as well Good thing is that i have got my refund through paypal. Also i have backup of my sites so no more worries at that time. DON.
Yes and in fact even in my own offer I cheated myself (dang it people got a lot outta me when I did unmetered never again will I offer that on a Master Reseller ) Wasn't worth it, but oh well they're happy that's all that counts I guess till I get rid of them
Actually it looks so tempting that u feel lets go for the offer and i know its not going to last long but still go for it at times..
Fasthosts is probably one of the best known "unlimited" hosts around. They offer unlimited traffic, but my website was down all the time, due to poor servers, so then I have no advantage of the unlimited stuff anyways!
yes from a DP member Correctus ... site = Correctus.com 1 of the worst hosting provider I bought it when I just started with webmaster world and dint have a lot to spend on other hosts, Lesson Learnt = CHEAP HOSTS SUCKS
Yeah, I wrote an article on this very topic last year. Check it out here: http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Myth-Of-Unlimited-Bandwidth-And-Disk-Space-Web-Hosting&id=747855
