I am planning to buy a LCD monitor probably a 19" LG monitor. It costs around Rs. 9,000 but I am not sure about the features.

Please recommend me some other models and also post rates if possible. What are some good features to look for?

    Thanks in advance! :)

Are you looking for Normal Monitors or Widescreen Monitors

There are many companies providing the monitors like Acer, Dell, and others Prices starts from Rs 8400 so better to go to your local dealer and ask him for the price.
And yes look for a webcam in your Monitor which is a good feature now-a-days.

Normal screen will cost you more. But it depends on ur choice. You can look for "Samsung 793 Nplus". Glossy design. But its 17''. and these days upper than 17'' no normal LCD is available. All Wide. If you can invest more then i would suggest to go for Dell. Hope it helps.

Wide screen are certainly better, narrow screen is the thing of past.
Don't worry about brand, they are all 'made in China'.

There are some really cheap LCD monitors out for sales but some of them are refurbished and the popular and trusted brands are always to better to choose (even though the cost is somewhat higher) rather than unknown and seemingly cheap products.

I am using a 19" widescreen Acer Monitor AL1916W purchased an year back in exchange of my CRT monitor and hence had to pay Rs6500 with CRT and thus got my New Monitor. My eyes do not strain now sitting infront of LCD monitor for long times.

Now a days the price would be around Rs 8k or may be Rs 8.5K for Samsung Wide Screen monitors and may be Rs 9.5K for Dell Monitors with inbuilt Cam. I would check the local market today and write the prices here for your information.

    Thanks a lot! :)

I tried to ask the prices from a local shop but they just tell about the models which they have. So, I am trying to know about the models which others are using and are good. I would wait for your response. :)
