Firefox 2.x users - does tinypic.com crash your browser?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by Kerosene, Nov 29, 2008.

Everytime I use Firefox 2 to upload a picture to tinypic.com, my browser crashes, and I have to use IE/Safari instead. This has happened on multiple installs of XP, over the last few months.

Can anyone else using Firefox 2 try uploading something to tinypic.com and tell me if it happens to them?

I use tinypic all the time, and it's totally fkn crapping me.

I don't think firefox users are like IE users, they upgrade their browser ;)

I hope you guys aren't suggesting that I use FF3. Been there, done that, rolled back the clock a long time ago.

How about some replies from people running FF2 (not 3)?

Nope... works perfect here... so should be at your side...

Maybe there are too much images in the map you choose from and your PC can't handle it anymore...

Thanks. I think it must be an issue with one of my FF2 extensions. It's been the same on 3 different Windows installs.

Works fine with FF3, IE, Safari etc on my PC.

I use Firefox 3 on my laptop.

I'm more interested in WHY tinypic.com is crashing FF2. Not how to get around it. :)

That's probably why people are finding it difficult to help you.

Only 2 of the replies to this thread have been from FF2 users contributing to finding a solution. They've helped me. Everyone else is filling the air with fluffy ducks :D

Visiting the URL on the fly it seems to function fine, is it something that happens 100% of the time...

Myself I have had intermittent issues with experts-exchange.com particularly viewing a solution when not logged in... I'm sure theres hundreds more alike sites that would cause a crash.

Maybe its down to the amount of javascripts and advertisements loading from different ad servers, on sites like these. Who knows, but the tinypic site seems fine.

It's not viewing the site that causes the problem - it's when I go to upload an image. As soon as I click "Browse", the nightmares begin.

I use Tinypic regularly, and it works fine for me. Both on FF2 and 3. I never use IE.
