Spammers and scammers should be "properly" taken care of. I wonder if that spammer can pay up. :D

I don't think the spammer can afford to pay up that amount .
And FB also cannot get that amount of money from the spammer.
The spammer is getting ready to fill for bankruptcy coz not afford to pay that lump sum

I hate spammers. Hopefully this settlement is so large in a bid to make an example out of them and deter others from doing the same.

Hopefully this ruling will deter other spammers from using Facebook as a platform for their junk. Also, it may be the only way that Facebook will have to become profitable.

    Haha. Yup.

I manage to avoid any spam on facebook (receiving it), so they're doing a pretty good job so far I think.

Imagine if myspace did this. They could make that much every hour.

Are you kidding us? Facebook has better ad targeting then Adsense and itst he #5 most visited website on the internet according to Alexa Data.
I was on Facebook and there was Ad on left advertising an aptment building down the block from my house!
Man if you owned Variety Store in town, you could put your Ad in Facebook and people in your town will see the ad, this is probably better then Adsense.
This would offer exposure to the people you want to see it, the people that matter are the ones who live near your business, Thats "Targeted Advertising"!

This was not the case of just one single spammer either...the person that was charged also has a company that was involved, and 25 others were included in the spam complaint...so he did not act alone, more then likely he will lose whatever company he has to BK, and whatever is left probably would go to facebook (if anything at all)
I am sure facebook attorneys will be riding him until he folds and he is forced to close his company and file BK.

It sounds crazy, Who will able to paid off that kind of money? Facebook will not get that money from the spammer. he will choose to kill himself if most of his paychecks go direct to Facebook every month.
