Hello peeps! Just threw up a forum on my directory, I have only just opened it so it is empty of both posts and members. Just wondering what you all think of it? TCC - Forum feel free to join also, there are plenty of topics on there! Reps to all who help me on this one!
Well it looks ok but for me, I would prefer a much lighter colored backdrop. Anyway, that's just my preferences and I'm sure others would have different opinion.
Thanks for the feedback people. The forum is starting to pick up, only been up for a week and already have 11 members and 81 posts...and I havn't invited any of my mates to join up... yet...hahaha. I also put a blog up there too, to review good sites that get submitted to the directory that is linked into the forum!
Took your advice and changed the theme totally, seems to be going okay as far as I can tell, been online 9days and have 22 member and over 200posts already, will ask friends to join soon I think, try and boost it that much more...do you think it looks to empty? I am new to this and could use an outsiders opinion about what is needed to boost it up...cheers in advance!
Your forum design doesn't seem to relate to what you are providing... Also, what area are you basing this forum on? The UK? USA? Australia?
nice look, however dont you think your trying to cover a bit to much right away, your site is new but you got hundreds of sub forums, this may put some users off when they dont see much activity in all of the forums.
Urm it is part of a enterrtainment and lifestyle Dir in which all the categories from the forum are present. Not looking to base it on an area. Damn good point! I will ammend that today! Hey thank you all for your reviews and advice, it is awesome of you all....legend....wait for it.....Dary!!!
Nice easy layout...My only thought is that it seems like you're covering many different topics. Maybe it would be better to focus on just one niche topic?
I did consider that, but I really wanted the forum to work as an extension and as a part of my Directory and Blog, so it seemed important to represent the full spectrum of topics. Seems to be filling up quite well, for less than 2 weeks old there are over 300 posts in about 100 threads, which is better than I had thought it would be!
The header image is WAY too big. The entire home page should be less then 100kb and just your header is 221.21 KB. For people with dial up, your page loading is going to be very slow. This is from your sites header: Your site has no keywords and no meta description. Search engines will be looking for this information to help determine "what" your site is about.
The forum is well organised, uses a good colour scheme, nice layout, and clean! Good luck with the directory and the forum Kind Regards.
