Ok bro.. So you agree that the terrorists who killed 100+ in Mumbai are not Muslim or they don't know the meaning of Islam? What do you think how these people are getting brainwashed in the name of Islam? Lack of education or what?
Yes i think, the concept is that way. But i am for sure that the Prophet in his last speech said these lines. Yes, you are correct brainwashed, also creating Mayhem in a country and taking Muslim name isn't correct. These situations also took place in Pakistan and Iraq all time. Iraq is facing blasts everyday. We really can't name these terrorists. I'd say the governments of the involved countries work together.
I did.. I said they were a terrorist organization....... no where did I bring any groups religious base as a reason for their acts. Now try not to be a dimwit....
When someone mentions a religious terrorist group (Islamic militants being the case in point), you should come up with other 'religious' terrorist groups to prove that it is not a singled-out phenomenon. Instead, you chose to come up with names of terrorist organizations randomly, which doesn't prove any point. Who's trying to be a dimwit here?
Unfortunately you are still the dimwit..... My response had to do with with this quote As you can see my reply was to prove that not all terrorists... are Muslims..... Again I don't know what your problem with me is... but feel free to send a PMB because your making yourself look silly here.....
Saying Islam is a religion of peace right now is like saying the same of Christianity in the middle of The Inquisition. While fatwas are delivered calling for the death of people that say things, write books, or even draw cartoons they think are sacrilegious... homosexuals are executed based on Islamic law, people blow others up in the name of Allah, women are beaten for not conforming to Islamic standards, and "honor killings" are part of the culture... save your breath. Get outta the 1600s, join the current century... THEN tell us it's a religion of peace. Actions speak louder than words, and the blood of those killed in the name of Islam belies the message of peace. You cant convince anyone otherwise until Islam cleans up its own house.
Yes! I wish there be light and let Islam get some enlightenment for the betterment of its own people. It should learn to accept people of other religions as their brothers, treat no religion as inferior, allow their women to come out of their otherwise ghettos, and most importantly conform to the democratic standards of the 21st century!
Ok. I would like to take time to answer, in the best way I can, all of your questions. Let me start from the first page. The purpose of the hijab is to protect the modesty of the women in society. Today, especially in the USA where I live, people seem to lose their modesty with their dress. People start to wear the most extravagant clothing and showing the most skin that it distracts from the person, the person behind all the clothing. Most people when they see a beautiful women with a skimpy outfit don't care what she's like but what she is wearing. It teaches people to interact with people on a level of attraction but respect and modesty. Also, it is used to prevent men from lusting women. It is used to prevent things such as adultery and other things that men like me don't need from another women. Furthermore, I have heard that in countries like Iraq and other nations, it used to detract raping. People are less likely to do such a thing when people are fully covered up and not tempting them. Ah. Very good question. Well to be honest there is not much I can do here in the USA but just post and spread what Islam is over the internet. I think you're right. There has been a lack of mass demonstrations. However, it is disingenous to say that nothing has been done. If you recall, a few years ago, the sunnis in Iraq actually went from supporting these people to joining the USA against them. Also, almost any site on Islam on the internet shows how they oppose terrorism. One of the slogans I like was "Terrorism has no religion." This also has a lot to do with other question. But I will address what you said about our prophet Muhammad, on whom be peace. I suppose it depends what you call violence. He never launched a war against anyone. In fact, they were all defensive in nature. I cannot go over the history because it is over quite a few years but let me give you a summary. Muhammad for the for 13 years of his prophethood, was oppressed horribly in Mecca. He was beaten while performing prayers and some of his followers were killed. He shortly fled to Media where he allied with many citizens there after settling a long standing fued in their village. It came to no suprise that the Meccans were opposed to this man. He threatened the entire order of the society. They began to oppose them and recruit tribes to oppose them. To me, this makes only sense that I would oppose these people. This is the EXACT kind of violence that the quran speaks of. In fact, I wont just say it, I will quote the full verses. Now the verse is certainly not that bad! It shows how anyone who sticks true to the treaty, that the Meccans broke (the reason for telling the Muslims to resists and fight these people), to give them safety and not fight them. In fact, it gives a period of months before any fighting to ensure people that want to make peace and come to the Muslim side, they can do so. Many of the other conflicts after this were of similar nature. People breaking treaties. In fact, I challenge you to find me one time that the prophet broke a treaty or started war unprovoked. The problem with terrorists today is that they think they are under this situation. It is rather ridiculous. Muslims today number over 1 billion. Islam at that time measured a few hundred guys. If there is anything I left out. Please tell me. I am actually new to this forum so I do not know st0x. Sorry. No, I do not hate atheists. I simply think of them as misguided, as the atheist would think I am. I would fully respect his human rights. Indeed there is. Here is just one: Also, I believe the so called "violent verses" above have elements of peace as well. Inclination towards peace. I can also give you quotes that dont necessarily say peace but imply peace. Well. God is an eternal, all-knowing, all powerful being. In fact one verse from the quran just pretty much answers this question. I cannot know God's purpose for sure but I suspect it is that he wanted to share his mercy and kindness to humanity because he has so much. Well, I don't hate them. I cannot speak for other Muslims but I can try to speak for Islam. There seems to be a difference these days sadly. Well. I suspect because its a movement nowadays pushed by Wahabbi extremist spread by pertrodollars. It has no bearing on Islam just the people. They think the US is oppressing them and supporting thing that are against them so they take up arms. Its mostly political with a religious justification that is unfounded. To some effect, this is just one of them. It has appeared in many different forms the quran: Well, its not my job to classify people but its certainly unislamic. I denounce it 100% just as I denounce all unjustified war, such as Iraq. I think, like I said above, its political with religious justification. The West has messed up the Middle East and their mad. Especially about Israel. Thank you all for your questions. I did not answer any non-questions or just regular comments. I love to hear people ask about things with the intent to learn.
Religions were created to keep man from expressing free will... If there were a god or a mohammed whatever one calls an idol with lack of any proof....then there would be only one religion. We are humans however we are animals....we die like animals.....we eat and live like animals....the only difference is we are supposed to be more intelligent but given the current state of affairs it would be a hard argument to say man is intelligent. Science is proving the fact that man evolved, and we should learn not to believe some fantasy story where we were created from dust..... Religions were created so man could be constrained......
yes, and take more: In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 1. O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allâh through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship)[]. Surely, Allâh is Ever an All Watcher over you. Prophet Mohammad PAPBUH said : "All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action.
Sorry but I find it hard to believe the prophet could have spoken about this since slavery of blacks by whites did not take place till many centuries later..... and there would be no exceptions to the rule....piety and good actions do not make one superior or without sin...
I'll rephrase it since the OP ignores direct statements: Do you agree with ANY of the following practices... all of which are associated with Islam: Fatwas calling for the death of people that say things, write books, or draw cartoons that imams deem sacrilegious... Execution of homosexuals Women being beaten for failing to conforming to Islamic standards of modesty "Honor killings"... death to women that are "impure" prior to marriage
According to the prophet if you don't pay the Jizya you can be taken as a slave. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_slave_trade History of Slavery of Black Africans in Islam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-5eaWMNM8I
Holy Quran Says. I am not sure about the exact verse, "If someone killed a person it is as if he has killed the whole humanity. If someone has saved a person it is as if you have saved the whole humanity." Terrorism and Killing Innocents can never be justified whatever the religion you belong. Whoever kills innocents and makes terror among people in the name of Islam or Muslim IS NOT A MUSLIM. Islam never teaches any such thing. For more references you can watch the video Is Terrorism is a Muslim Monopoly by Dr.Zakir Naik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utHBJmQIz7g
As a christian woman i am absolutely disgusted at some of the posts in this thread, you or no one you know has the right to judge a whole religion based on extremists, for all you ignorant people out here in this forum and beyond, all religions have extreme violence, islam and the extreme muslims are getting the brunt of exposure because of the media, but take a look back into history, don't go too far back and you will see christian extremists going into worse actions than these muslim extremists. We Christians have tried Genocide, bombing, mass killings all in the name of god, so what you have to do is first think long and hard about what you are going to type, get some proof behind your statements not speculative truth but real proof 1994 Rwanda Genocide started by christians Protestant Death Squad operating in Ireland In Zimbabwe, the marxist-authoritarian Mugabe is also Catholic, and his murderous regime has long been protected by the Zimbabwe Catholic church. The Holocaust did not come out of nowhere. It was not a random choice that the Jews were selected as the targets. The Holocaust was the climax of a thousand years of killing and persecution by the Christians. I can keep going!!! I have lots of time and have tons of proof, we christians are more murderous and hateful than any other religion. I don't think that there needs to be no more talking about extremist groups, we did rwanda and we did the holocoust. We are more violent and extreme than any muslim group or organization.
We'll translate that into proper English and take it under advisement sweetheart... but this IS a discussion forum, and as a result we do tend to discuss things in here. That said, I dont recall needing your permission. LOL... wow, you do get around, and you hardly look old enough to have been at the holocaust. FTR tho, this is a discussion of the Muslim religion, not a comparison of their deeds vs yours. I will remember not to cross you though, you sound a little dangerous. I might mention that if you think the holocaust was a "christian" operation you have a different history book than I do. I'm pretty sure Adolph Hitler wasn't working for God at the time.
Hello, Sorry robjones if you felt I was ignoring your post but it was not a question rather a comment. Let me address some of the points mentioned; however, before I do, it should be noted that the practices of muslims are not always represented of Islam. I could say that Stalin and Mao were representative of atheism couldn't I? * Fatwas calling for the death of people that say things, write books, or draw cartoons that imams deem sacrilegious... I find many of these ruling wrong in themselves. The most prominent of scholars in respect have emphasized restrain. Don't go from some wackjob Saudi that actually would consider me a disbeliever (its true). * Execution of homosexuals This is a subject that would require a great deal of scholarship. To say that all homosexuals are killed would be an egregious Islamic interpretation. In fact, being homosexual in itself is not punishable at all. There are only very certain circumstances that would incite punishment and these punishments and circumstances are the subject of much scholarly debate nowadays. I ask you to treat these subjects with respect and not go off telling muslims what they believe. I thank you for asking me if I believe this. * Women being beaten for failing to conforming to Islamic standards of modesty I am not even sure where this came from. I have never heard of this practice and beating is certainly over the top. * "Honor killings"... death to women that are "impure" prior to marriage This has been rejected by most muslim scholars. I have never heard of this either. This, like the other poster, is not quite doing justice to the subject. In fact, if you read that wikipedia article, many western scholars think that calling it Islamic slave trading is ludicrous. If you examine islamic and quranic teachings you will find it that it promotes the gradual abolition or reduction of slavery. I will go more into this if you want. Let me copy and paste a paragraph from wikipedia about this subject. Before I do, i have read no sayings of the prophet (hadith) that have discussed this. This is the interpretation of later scholars. I have not had the oppurtunity to read many of the sources myself as the resources on the internet are far and few. According to Abu Yusuf, jurist of Harun al-Rashid, those who didn't pay jizya should be imprisoned not to be let out of custody until payment. It is not permissible to exempt one person, while obliging another to pay jizya, nor is jizya to be reduced.[48] Though it was an annual tax, non-Muslims were allowed to pay it in monthly installments.[16] If someone had agreed to pay jizya, violated the agreement, and left Muslim territory to go into enemy land, was subject enslavement if ever captured. This punishment did not apply if a person suffered injustices amongst Muslims. [49] I await your further comments.
