    Hi,

I am doing some preliminary research on another site that i wanna start. Basically, my question is how much do you guys in the business think it will cost to host maybe 10 full featured movies to be streamed by users , with maybe about 5000-8000 views a month? I dont have details but generally the movies would be of fair watchable quaility at about an 120mins each.

I have the right to broadcast these movies, so no need for offshore hosting or anything like that. (except if its cheaper).

I know that i am bit ambiguous, so i guess your answer can be too...

If you wanna suggest some hosting sites that are popular for this kinda stuff itll be great

for 5000-8000 views a month, I think hostgator's baby plan would be enough

for today only, use coupon code BLACK to get 75% OFF ;)

Watch-Movies is worth $9.87M, all they do is find links and according to them it's not illegal but part of it must be because they are advertising it? Just saying here you can make a lot of money from a movie website.

I advise you to go with at least VPS with 5GB ram coz streaming website need a powerful server.
The cost is depend on your server spec.
Try to find the dedicated server with at least 100MBPS

Definately not at first. If you are linking or even embedding these movies into your site, I would recommend going with a VPS to start with then as you gradually get bigger you gradually upgrade.

A dedicated server is a good idea. And if your getting that much visits you can have ads on your site and that can even pay for the hosting costs.

I would suggest to go for managed dedicated server for more flexibility and better control on features.

For the beginning you can start with the Swamp package at HostGator. But after some months you will need a dedicated server.

I disagree with both. Go with a VPS first, a small one and gradually go up
