Anyone else into fish? My latest project is a 75 gallon saltwater reef tank. Still in it's infancy. Here are a couple shots (I'm a lousy camera guy):
They are so cute. We have some shops near us with really good tank displays. FWIW I have some reef forums in my directory (see sig)
Yea I used to breed seahorses but havent got the time currently to care for them, thier needs are great. I have run a few Reef set ups, currently running a micro 2 Gallon reef with a NEMO for my eldest!!. Good luck and dont by the latest gadgets - do reasearch into equipment it can save you a frotune Jamie
It wouldn't be right if it didn't have Nemo! My kids loved the movie, so most of the fish will be from the movie
Awesome. I love fish tanks. Here is my short list of animals you should and should not put in it: must: red lobster (small one, about 5-6 inches long if you can find one) - they clean the bottom and are totally cool and fun to feed too. crabs - great filter feeders to keep the tank clean flounder - they are cool looking and clean the tank too clown fish and an anemone - the interaction is pretty neat, but the anemoies can be a little fickle and might not look pretty all the time cow fish - just cuz they are soo ugly they are cute. must not: eel - they are too smart and will try to escape all the time. mine committed suicide one night by jumping out of the tank. parrot fish - little bastards. they attack other fish and eat the decorations too. lion fish - they'll kill everything in your tank, even though they are the very cool lookin.
Very cool. Many lives ago, I used to assist with a wildlife reclamation project, Channel Islands, California - spiny lobster, abalone, scallops. Afraid I concur with Lorien on eels - we had a Moray - named, "thatsa." (you figure it out), that didn't make it long. Love saltwater tanks.
hahah yea but I love eels; they were the reason I got a salt water tank. And yup, I found them on the floor a few times. They're umm 'clever' if you count escapism as clever, but then they land on the dry floor... which isn't so clever. Luckily they are also very resilient!
looks good, I ran a 29gallon reef with MH for 2 years, tank started too leak so I just sold it all off.
I also love finding nemo... already watch it 5 times. makes me laugh again and again. the blue one is dori, am i right?
