Excellent thread, nice to see some answers about CPALead from the people involved.

A couple of suggestions:

1. If I type in my email and username on the main page and login then go back to the front page, it asks me to login again. Perhaps the cookie/session is set inside a sub folder and it's not being read here?

2. On your contact.php page you have: Technical Support: Due to abuse of this contact, you must log in to submit a tech trouble ticket.
But when I login then go back to this page it asks me to log in again. Same problem as above really.

3. You mentioned you were designing a new version in a different language, so this is probably already covered, but as mentioned many times users can simply disable javascript. One way around this would be to supply CPALeaders with a javascript and/or php file which prints out the content on their page. This would be difficult and impractical on .html pages, but for .php pages this would be very simple.

4. Being able to theme/style the survey window would be simple to program and provide great benefit. AdSense does this and sites that match their AdSense colors to their site colors see a noticeable increase in CTR.

5. A small forum section on your site would be nice. Somewhere to talk and discuss CPA with other people using the system.

6. The option to receive payment by PayPal. I think this is a big one. Since a lot of your users, including myself, are outside of the US, it costs you money to send the cheque by post, and most foreign banks have a charge for cashing foreign cheques. You could get rid of both of these overheads by paying in PayPal (though PayPal also has a small charge for sending payment). I think a lot of people would prefer this.

7. Not really a suggestion, but a plug. I've recently created a CPALead plugin for WordPress and wondered if you had any thoughts or suggestions, or if there was somewhere you could link it from your site: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1127001

At the moment, the popup doesn't cover my 'premium content' (the video) and users can simply play the video while ignoring the popup.

Is it possible to adjust the position of the popup?

 

Oh.. as of today, half of my traffic come from international user.. from 186 clicks on perfspot, only 1 lead.. Troy, pls help to have the option to disable the gateway for international visitor.. Thanks...

 

How come some peoples CPA popup protects videos while mine doesn't? Does CPA have to set up this themselves?

 

This is a very valid request but it seems the CPALead guys are too busy to deal with this..sad isnt it..

 

Yesterday I got 850 clicks to perfspot and only 4 conversion

 

why do'nt you just checl the ip address of your visitor and skip the cpa;ead script if the visitor is not from the us or uk.

just search google on how to detect country of ip address.

 

The way to do that is using www.ip2nation.com to redirect visitors to another "same page" with no cpa gateway. Using ip2nation involves using the htaccess file heavily and that would cause heavy cpu usage. Thus it is still better if cpalead would make a function on their side to automatically detect international traffic and let them pass through. But I guess they cant be bothered doing that as at the current state its making them good money and it wont matter even if they do per the request suggested above.

 

After posting this I realized that there was already the option to be payed via PayPal, so ignore that. However, I thought of some more suggestions:

8. A single referral link. Currently there are two referral links dependent on whether the person signing up will use Premium Content or not. This is unfortunate because I don't know what service my referrals are likely to use. Surely it's easy to determine which service the user is using and issue the 5% extra for both?

9. Split testing. Similar to AdSense channels, split testing would offer you the ability to track how well certain surveys are performing vs others and whether premium content is best or not.

10. The Premium Content demo links do not work if you fill in a survey. I probably shouldn't admit to this but I filled in one of my own surveys (to ensure the content would be displayed and the service was legitimate). After doing this the demo links no longer work because I have access to the page. Some way of seeing how the popup looks even after you've filled in a survey would be beneficial.

11. More information for readers. After using CPALead on my site for a few days I've received several comments stating that "CPALead is a waste of my time", though usually using more colorful language. After chasing these comments up it turned out that most of these users were filling in fake information and hence were not getting access to the page. If you click on the HELP button it does state that you need to fill in real information, but I think most people don't bother to click this button and instead it should be on the front page, perhaps in red text like the "PLEASE COMPLETE A SURVEY.." text.

12. Specify how many surveys need to be completed. I think this would be really useful. Some of my premium content is worth a lot to my readers and so they will easily spend the time completing several surveys to obtain the content.

I suggest the feature of us being able to skin the popup.

 

I think the biggest problem with cpalead premium content is that after a few hundred surveys and different offers have been forced upon you, too many users just give up. Does anyone have an example of a page where I would actually just complete one survey you make a little cash and the page unlocks.

@Sean... I have been a big supporter of your wordpress link directory plugin since day one. Today I try to look at WP Link Directory Pro but I could never get to the page? filled out my name address and email 15 times, I was sent on and endless journey through marketing hell.

I think everybody sometimes needs to take a step back and listen to Google "You can make money without doing evil".

The premium content idea is great but it needs to be toned down.

Thanks for the suggestions Sean. We are working on organizing an experienced tech team and laying out a clear plan of how we want the Gateway tool to ultimately function. I have sent all suggestions that pass through our review team to our president for review as with all the other suggestions I have received.

Please keep in mind that we are currently holding off on changing anything at this point. We are not ignoring your requests, however we are trying to rebuild the tool so everything is right the second time around, and we cannot do that until everybody in our company is ready.

Everything from allowing you to sort the Gateway by any order you want, select surveys you want to run versus having to disable all, new design, more features, IP tracking on who to show the Gateway to, more international surveys, more higher converting surveys, more specific targeting for surveys, and on and on and on - I have a huge list written out on my desk here. Just understand that it will take some time to build the next release of this tool and I ask for your patience.

Keep in mind I also talk to many of you online EVERYDAY via AIM and Yahoo IM. I gain about 10 new suggestions each day, which is great, but just understand we have to get our programmers all on the same page before we proceed with improving this tool head on. Thanks again for all of your feedback. We are still actively working for you.

my surveys are not shown in my gateway these few days!
I have written to the tech and my earning drops!

 

Added surveys from affiliate programs and they won't run. Green light next to surveys indicates their active.....

Do I have to disable all the others to run my affiliate surveys?

I have been hearing some complaints about some offers that converted well, that now no longer convert well. Keep in mind, just like how good surveys turn bad, bad surveys turn good. They fluctuate daily. So if you are disabling surveys now because you do not ever want them to show up on your Gateway, keep in mind our Gateway only shows the highest converting offers, and you are hurting the potential of your Gateway by doing so.

Disabling any survey because of their conversion rate is a BAD IDEA, because these same surveys you are disabling, might soon be converting better than the surveys you think are good now. So please, disable surveys lightly. In fact, its best to only disable 2-3 surveys if you do not like their price. For instance, to move an 60 cents survey out of the way to make room for a survey that pays out $1.

If you have experienced a loss in earnings, please enable a majority of your surveys.

 

Im afraid to say the advice here is very bad advice!

Probably 80% of the offers convert badly.

If you take this advice you are going to see this happen to your stats

Since i do fairly little with cpalead nowadays i dont go in and disable surveys etc so this was a snap shot of some offers this last week
