I have heard and seen them on Tv but I really don't believe in mixing animals like this its not right.
oh my...I haven't heard any of it, but thanks for the illumination Are they real for sure? Really impressive noticing new species
ya they r real dont believe then read this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liger en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zonkey en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopon
LMAO! Not so, check out the wikipedia links. I've seen the first two, but not the third, before. There's actually both a Liger and a Tigon, the difference is whether the Tiger (or Lion) is the mother or the father. Leads to a different animal, interestingly.
BTW check out the Savanna cat, it is a lot bigger than a normal cat. It is a cross of the African Serval and the cat ;D + = Banned here in Australia, but they are allowed in USA and most other countries too as a pet. ;D Most fully grown Savanna cats can just over 6 foot Was just thinking, it would be an awesome party trick. Place a treat on your head and your cat jumps over you and grabs it ;D They only cost a few thousand dollars, and about that every year for food and vet check ups. Expensive but fun
No genetic engineering or anything weird going on here. Just inter-species breeding. Typically, if species are more closely related than about 6 to 8 million years then they will be able to inter-breed. So most of the big cats can inter-breed as can sheep and goats (shoats) and members of the horse family (donkeys and horses produce mules etc). The more distant the two species are the more likely it is that the offspring are sterile and won't be able to breed themselves (like mules).
Wow, I just noticed the insane amount of comments this guy's blog post got. People arguing about speciation and ManBearPigs.
